Finding The Meaning of God’s Word
“WHAT IS HERMENEUTICS” (part three)
INTRO:
Hermeneutics is the “Science” of Biblical Interpretation. In this lesson we will use the method called “scaling”, to set up our lesson. WE will be looking into the CONTINUITY of the Bible. (The close union of the different parts of the Bible)
Keep in mind there are:
31,173 verses
1189 chapters
66 books
In the King James Bible and they all fit, from the Old Testament to the New Testament. From Genesis to Revelation. It’s all one Book. There is no picking and choosing. There is not one word in God’s Word that is not “Inspired” of God.
History:
1.) Heaven and Earth is created:
Job 38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
GOD HAS ALWAYS EXISTED!
Gen 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
WE CAN HAVE NO EXCUSE FOR RECOGNIZING THIS FACT!
Neh 9:6 Thou, even thou, art LORD alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and [the host of heaven worshippeth thee].
THE ANGELS TOO, WORSHIP THE ALMIGHTY GOD!
2.) Satan’s first “attack”:
Gen 3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Lucifer his angelic name was tossed out of Heaven.
Luk 10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Why did Jesus come.
1Jn 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. [For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil].
Sin bound the world to Satan.
Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15 [And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage].
3.) The Earth was prepared for Mankind.
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
Gen 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
ANIMALS ARE NEVER TO BE DOMINATE!
Job 5:23 For thou shalt be in league with the stones of the field: and the beasts of the field shall be at peace with thee. (We will always be able to overcome the beast of the field)
4.) The “headship” of man:
Gen 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
The 1st “surgery”.
Gen 2:21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
Gen 2:22 And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
Gen 2:23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
Man to dominate woman but as Christ loves man.
1Co 11:8 For the man is not of the woman; but the woman of the man.
1Co 11:9 Neither was the man created for the woman; but the woman for the man.
1Ti 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
1Pe 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
5.) Mankind under Satan’s “yoke”.
2Co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Co 4:4 [In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not], lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, [that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.]
Isa 14:3 And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and [from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve],
Isa 14:4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!
Isa 14:5 The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.
Rom 8:21 Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from [the bondage of corruption] into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
Gal 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, [were in bondage under the elements of the world]:
Heb 2:15 [ And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.]
*****Gal 5:1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
6.) GOD BEGINS HIS WORK WITH MAN:
Gen 3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.
Gen 3:24 [So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.]
Gen 6:5 [And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.]
Gen 6:6 [And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.]
*****Gen 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.
7.) The construction of Babylon.
Gen 11:2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.
Gen 11:3 And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.
Gen 11:4 And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.
Gen 11:5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
Gen 11:9 Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.
IDOLATRY BEGINS:
The worship of idols, images, or any thing made by hands, or which is not God.
Idolatry is of two kinds; the worship of images, statues, pictures, &c. made by hands; and the worship of the heavenly bodies, the sun, moon and stars, or of demons, angels, men and animals.
THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD:
Psa 96:5 [For all the gods of the nations are idols:] but the LORD made the heavens.
1Jn 5:7 [For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.]
1Jn 5:8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
1Jn 5:19 And we know that we are of God, and [the whole world lieth in wickedness.]
1Jn 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. [This is the true God, and eternal life.]
*****1Jn 5:21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.
8.) Israel called(out) and blessed.
Gen 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
Gen 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Gen 21:7 And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.
Gen 21:8 And the child grew, and was weaned: and Abraham made a great feast the same day that Isaac was weaned.
Gen 24:6 And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.
Gen 24:7 The LORD God of heaven, which took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my kindred, and which spake unto me, and that sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he shall send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife unto my son from thence.
Gen 25:23 And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger.
Gen 25:26 And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau’s heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them.
Act 7:7 And the nation to whom they shall be in bondage will I judge, said God: and after that shall they come forth, and serve me in this place.
Act 7:8 And he gave him the covenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begat Isaac, and circumcised him the eighth day; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat the twelve patriarchs.
9.) The “time” of the Gentiles begin:

2Ki 24:14 And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land.

Mat 2:2 Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.
Then Silent period:
Num 4:3 From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.
At the age of thirty:
Joh 2:11 This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Rev 3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
Rev 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
Rev 3:21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

**********THESE ARE THE HISTORICAL FACTS. WE CAN NOW LOOK AT THE PROPHETIC FUTURE.

Note the Numbering.

1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
