Will You Call God a Liar

The Gospel of Grace and Security

Chapter 8 Verse 28 through 39

What is the security of the believer?

1) First, we must understand that God the Father is the Author of salvation through His Son Jesus Christ.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

2) It is God who “justifies” each believer by Jesus Christ.

Rom 3:21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Rom 3:22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Rom 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Rom 3:26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

3) This assurance of salvation is the greatest gift that has ever been conceived!

Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

The day of Jesus Christ is the day Christ returns to get His Church. He will meet His Church in the clouds.

Joh 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
Joh 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
Joh 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.
Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.

Becoming a Christian with eternal security is not a fairy tale!

The death of Jesus Christ was not a game God was playing, but a serious thing He has done for us!

Becoming a Sanctified Christian is a life-long struggle to resist temptations and flee from ungodly activities.

How do I know that I have eternal security? Because my God cannot and does not lie!

Heb 6:17 Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:
Heb 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:
Heb 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Heb 6:20 Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

When God raised His Son Christ Jesus from His death, He gave us the basis of our “faith” in His truth!

Without this “faith” there is no eternal security for anyone!

1Co 15:12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
1Co 15:13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
1Co 15:14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
1Co 15:15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
1Co 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
1Co 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
1Co 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
1Co 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
1Co 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Everything that has happened since the time of Creation, are things that have worked for the good of all those who love God.

More about this eternal security in our lesson today.

Remember no one comes to God on their own. No one comes to God without them first being called by God the Holy Spirit.

*Rom 8:28 And we know that “all things” work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Those who love God and are called by Him will definitely be freed from the bondage of sin, and the corruptions of this life, and will be ushered into glory.

Nothing shall prevent the plan of God from being fulfilled in each believer!

No part of the plan of God will fail!

God works out all the details of salvation for those who love Him!

“All things” goes far beyond just the things of this world!

Remember God has made a New Heaven and a New Jerusalem.

Since this is true, then we have to know that God has it in His power to control all things or to allow all things that have happened in this world and all these things have been for the believer.

We may not totally understand these things right now, but when we have that “faith”, we can know all these things are true.

Daily, moment by moment, God is arranging all things for the good of the believer and we must understand these things as we see life unfold around us.

Anything that happens in this world happens because God has allowed it to happen!

God is not the cause of terrible things!

We already know that God does not cause terrible things, but He does allow some terrible things to happen and to continue if they serve His purpose.

For all those who do not love God, why then do they expect God to look after them?

They should point the blame at the true cause and in most cases, these causes come from bad government and wicked men influenced by Satan.

These are the ones who live in a fantasy world and not the believer, who know the truth!

God will not force His care upon anyone!

God has a purpose for each and every believer!

God wants the love that freely flows from the heart of each of us who love Him to be seen by the world.

2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
2Th 2:14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

God places His Spirit inside each believer to bring them to holiness!

1Th 4:7 For God hath not called us unto uncleanness, but unto holiness.

This is that process of “sanctification”.

God delivers all those who are positioned in Christ Jesus!

God has His own purpose, which is to deliver each believer, it is His will!

*Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

What is omniscience? We sometimes forget God is intellectually omniscient.

He knows the ending and the beginning of everything at the same time!

He knows all those who will accept His gift of salvation and those who will not, yet He offers His free gifts to every living soul.

It is choices God offers after He explains His truth.

Act 15:18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.

If you understand this verse as it is written, you will see that these who choose the “faith” in the Lord Jesus Christ are those who have been predestined.

Those seeking to be like Jesus are the ones Born Again into the family of God!

God does not choose some to go Heaven and then the remainder to go to Hell!

God gives this choice to us!

If you end up in Hell it is because of the choices you have made the main choice being to ignore the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Does He know, sure He does!

He also knows if I am able to go to work tomorrow or not or my plans a month away.

God knows the things we go through moment by moment, day by day, year by year.

The Bible is not only a love letter from God, but it is a book that teaches us about the choices we make and if they are good choices or bad choices and what happens when we make bad choices.

We must understand that no matter how much we struggle, no matter how great the opposition we face, no matter how great the suffering, God is going to complete His purpose for each believer, each child of God!

God has ordained that His Son Jesus is to have many adopted brothers and sisters, and this is the method He has chosen.

If you truly the Lord Jesus Christ, then you will be welcomed into the family of God. This is what He has predestined!

You cannot be rejected for you sins of the past or the sins of the future.

That word “conformed” means to be like Christ. That title Christian means to be like Jesus Christ.

That word “Image” means likeness. We could attempt to work to be more like Jesus, but we do not have the ability to be perfect as He is!

This then is a gift of God when we are glorified!

2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
1Jn 3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Our Holy God has given each of us that believe Him these assurances that we will one day be alive in the image of His dear Son Jesus the true Messiah!

2Ti 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Since God knows all these things then we can be sure that if you love the Lord Jesus Christ you will be part of this calling.

No one who has put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ will be left out!

*Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Predestination includes individual salvation.
Predestination includes our status as the adopted children of God.
Predestination includes our eventual perfection.
Predestination includes our ultimate glorification.
Predestination secures our eternal inheritance.
Predestination is the will of God for each believer!

Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Predestination is a promise from God for those who have accepted the work of Jesus Christ for their salvation!

It is not a question of if God will do all these things.

It is God’s purpose for those who love Him and His Son and who are filled with His Holy Spirit!

This is why it is called the “Grace” of God!

Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

God calls us to Christ and when we respond and come to Christ, then we are “justified”.

This calling must be answered which this is the time we have a choice. Not everyone answers the call of God!

We know that this is the work of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit knows if He will be accepted or not.

Gen_6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man,

Those who answer God’s calling will begin that road called sanctification as a child of God and God in His patience will bring His child through this life pursuing the image of Jesus Christ.

Php 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
Php 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Php 3:15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.

God will never forget about His adopted children.

*Rom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
Rom 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Rom 8:33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

God will never be against those who are His adopted children!

So, when God is for us, it does not really matter who is against us!

The only thing they can do is the thing we want and that is to join our Heavenly Father in His house!

He is expecting us at any time because He lives in eternity!

We cannot make God loves us more and we cannot make God love us any less, because He has that perfect love!

Gal 1:3 Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
Gal 1:4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:
Gal 1:5 To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Since God gave His Son Jesus for us why would we ever think He will not provide our needs!

He is bound by His own oaths to take care of His adopted children.

This provision includes spiritual, eternal, and material things in this life.

These material things are the necessities of this life that we need to survive, and these things are freely given.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

God has already “justified” each of His adopted children, so He does not hold sin against any of us!

Only God can judge us in this manner!

Heb 13:6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

No one can separate us from the love of God.

*Rom 8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

If there were anyone who had the power to condemn us for our sin it would be the Lord Jesus Christ who died for that sin.

Once Christ died for us and rose from that death, He became our Savior and Saviors do not condemn!

Our penalty for all sin we have and will commit in our lifetime has been paid by our Savior!

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Our faith is not just based upon His death.

Our faith is based upon His resurrection.
Our faith is based upon His return to take His church home.
Our faith is based upon His one-thousand-year rule of this earth.
Our faith is based upon His Second Coming.
Our faith is based upon His intercession for us today and every day until He takes us home!

Our old life is passed away and we have begun living our new life once we have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior, though He is much more than our Savior!

He sits at the right hand of God defending His brothers and sisters.

Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, “but also in that which is to come”: (There is a New World coming and we will still be in the family of God with these promises)
Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

It is the Lord Jesus Christ who rules and reigns over all this universe. Some would say cosmos.

1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

No one can take His love from us!

No one can make these promises to fail!

*Rom 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Rom 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

As Christians God has not raised us to be sheep to be slaughtered, He has made us to be Conquerors of this wicked world!

How can our nation, which was once known as a Christian nation, turn their back on such a loving God?

How can a world headed for destruction turn their back on such a loving God?

How can so-called believers turn their back on God knowing all the promises He has made to us?

The world is in distress, but I am not, and neither are most Christians.

The distresses of this life are readily seen including this Covid plague but as a Christian I am not distressed over it.

The Church realizes we are the enemy of the world because we stand against sin.

To be abused, or mocked, even ridiculed for my beliefs does not harm me.

As we go through these things, we need to remember these words of God the Holy Spirit.

I know persecution is much worse in other places, than it is here in the U.S. but we all must cling to these promises of God.

Remember a great many missionaries depend on the Churches of America for support!

If we do our part, I know the Lord will do His part!

No matter our circumstances or the severity of our situation Christ will carry us through it.

2Ti 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

These are not just words we read.

These are the promises from a loving God!

Even when we reach that time called “old” Christ Jesus does not forget us.

Isa 46:4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you: I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.

*Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

There is no power in this universe that can separate us from the love of God!

Death is only our first step to Heaven’s doorway!

If God allows our death to come, then He is ready for us to come home!

Joh 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Nothing in this life can separate us from the love of God.

There is no angel, no power, no heavenly, no spiritual creature, no being from another dimension can keep us from the love of God.

There is nothing that is present and nothing in the future can keep us from the love of God.

There is no height, nor depth, nothing from outer space, or the depths of earth can separate us from the love of God.

Even if there is something that comes about that we cannot know about, even this cannot overcome the love that God has for us and the completion of His will for us.

Jehovah God and His Messiah and His Holy Spirit are all powerful and they all live within me!

1Jn 4:8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1Jn 4:9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Amen

Being in Bondage

The Yoke of Bondage

Book of Exodus Chapters 1 and 2

Since we have learned again all the good things that come with our salvation provided by our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ, we can now look through the eyes of the Old Testament and see example after example of how God deals with not only His people but also the great fear that the world has for God’s people.

We should not forget the world is afraid of Christians!
The world is afraid of the Word of God!

It is this fear of God’s people that brings persecution, and oppression, and in many cases death.

Satan has only one goal and that is to rid the world of God’s people in some sense of victory for himself, but he can never have victory over Jehovah as we have just witnessed in the death, the burial, and the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

One of the great lessons in the Bible is the story of Joseph whom his own brothers sold into slavery, but God had another plan.

Gen 50:20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Gen 50:21 Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.
Gen 50:22 And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and his father’s house: and Joseph lived an hundred and ten years.

We may not ever understand why God allows so much evil to continue to exist, but we must see that God also continues to cause good to come from that evil.

If good were not destined to conquer evil, then it would seem that God could be conquered which would mean there is no God at all!

To be a Christian means that we are to strive to be more like God!

We must endure to draw good out of evil.

This is what the Holy Spirit does and also why the Holy Spirit abides in us after we come to know the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

When we understand these things, we also understand that the Rapture of the Church comes before the years called the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation.

We must always strive to be a part of the “Good” of the Lord and the destruction of the “Evil” of Satan, knowing it is the sin that is evil, and the sinners are the ones we need to reach in the name of Jesus Christ, obeying His command as we learned in the final passage of the Book of Matthew.

In reality we see that not only Joseph had died but all his brothers and the Bible says even all that generation.

In typology this represents the Rapture of the Church and then the Tribulation years as a new Pharoah (a type of the Antichrist) who has so much fear of even those who are lost because he knows the love God has even for the lost, he will bring on extreme persecution.

The people of God are ensnared into bondage.

Egypt in type becomes a picture of the world today which opposes God and enslaves God’s people.

The lost are still enslaved in bondage to sin and then death!

The Book of Exodus becomes a great book of deliverance, of salvation, and of deliverance by the hand of a loving God named “I Am”, Jehovah.

*Exo 1:6 And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation.
Exo 1:7 And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.

The purpose of the Church is to multiply and grow as one generation ceases to exist and the new generation takes over.

This cannot take place unless we teach the young ones the Word of God as they grow to do the same.

The Church is to always make disciples.

You see God wants a people who love Him and serve Him according to His Word.
God wants a people who will make disciples to go forth throughout the world as the Lord Jesus instructed.
God wanted a people through whom He could send His only Son and release them from the bondage of this world.
God wants a people who can preserve His written but unchanging Word, the Holy Bible.
God wants a people through whom He can demonstrate the truth of life here on earth and the truth of heaven and eternal life.

We know that life and salvation are not of this world.
We must know that life and salvation are Spiritual, and they are eternal.
We must know that these things are secured by “Faith”.

Israel would be a “New Race” of people created to carry forth the truth of God.

To do this they, by the hand of the Lord must overcome bondage!

The first theme of the Book of Exodus is “deliverance”.

*Exo 1:8 Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph.
Exo 1:9 And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we:
Exo 1:10 Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land.

Today the Church is in more danger from treachery from the outside world and government inspired hatred and cruelty, but we must not forget God’s people cannot be defeated by Satan or his followers!

Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and “the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”.

We see today the open war as the Church who is the enemy to this evil and wicked world battle.

The world is in bondage to sin!

The Church must multiply and stay strong but our strength still remains with our God, the Lord Jesus Christ who cannot be defeated.

Jehovah had proven “faithful” to Abraham who was faithful and the standard for us even today.

Gen 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
Gen 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
Gen 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

God had promised Adam:

Gen 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

God had promised Noah:

Gen 8:15 And God spake unto Noah, saying,
Gen 8:16 Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
Gen 8:17 Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth.

God always does what He says He will do because God is “Faithful”!

What is another promise God has made?

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The fear of God’s people first brings enslavement. (Notice even in America our own government is trying to enslave the Church today)

*Exo 1:11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
Exo 1:12 But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel.
Exo 1:13 And the Egyptians made the children of Israel to serve with rigour:
Exo 1:14 And they made their lives bitter with hard bondage, in morter, and in brick, and in all manner of service in the field: all their service, wherein they made them serve, was with rigour.

Why is it that governments resort to persecution and oppression towards those who disagree with them?

It most always makes things worse, and those governments become totalitarian and usually fail.

Since we can know the ending before the beginning, we know that this Pharoah was destroyed along with his mighty army and Egypt has never really been much of a power in this world since that time period several thousand years ago.

This is why history is being erased.

All Marxist states will eventually fall!

All these things this Pharaoh tried was overcome by God’s purpose and the simple fact that Jehovah keeps all His promises!

He could not stop Israel’s population growth.
He could not break their spirits.
He could not cause great numbers of them to die using his methods.

How many of the rich in our world today are deliberately trying to stop population growth in every way they can today.

We hear so much about slavery today, but we do not hear about the slaves of Israel.

Israel had lost all freedoms they had while Joseph was still living.

While in slavery it was the Israelites who built the cities of Pithom and Rameses and who knows what else.

This Pharaoh was willing to bring any evil on his mind toward these people when he had no reason at all.

Let us make some comparisons.

Pharaoh was prince of Egypt; Satan is the prince of this world.
Pharaoh oppressed the people of God, Satan also oppresses the people of God
Pharaoh held to people he could rule, Satan clings to the lost people he rules.
Pharoah enslaved people to do his will, Satan enslaves people to do his will.

This is why the Pharaoh is a type of the Antichrist.

This Pharaoh started what is called today “Abortion at full term”.

*Exo 1:22 And Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.

When governments give out laws that allow certain individuals to murder innocent people it just proves how wicked they are.

These are not doctors they are murders for hire!

Many Muslim countries ok the freedom of its citizens to murder, maim, and persecute anyone who goes against their beliefs in a false god who was a murderer, a rapist, a child molester himself.

But there are other countries that allow the persecution and murder of innocent people.

Even in America persecution is allowed and it will not be long till murder will be considered in the hatred of Christians.

The Egyptian people could take young Israelite male children and drown them without repercussions.

The daughters were saved with the intention of making them slaves and sex slaves.

This type of action is even defended by other governments, or it is not considered when negotiating with those governments.

This law was overcome by true mothers, one of those being the mother of Moses, but there were other mothers who did what they had to preserve the life of their children.

You know what, I serve a God who overcomes persecution!

We must boldly take a stand on all laws that go against the Word of God!

2Ti 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

2Pe 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

The birth of Moses.

*Exo 2:1 And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi.
Exo 2:2 And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months.
Exo 2:3 And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river’s brink.
Exo 2:4 And his sister stood afar off, to wit what would be done to him.

Can you just imagine wicked men, hired by Pharaoh, patrolling the streets listening out for crying babies to take and then drown them?

Today in America the sanctity of life is under attack and most people do not even care!

It was this way in Egypt in the time of Moses, but the mother of Moses had a plan.

It is the call of God’s people to stand up for our God, our children, and our families!

Moses was delivered because God had a purpose for his life just as God has a purpose for each of His children.

Most will not be called for such a task as Moses, but some will.

The story of Moses is fascinating!

Moses was chosen by God to single-handedly save these people who would be known as Israel.

1) The birth of Moses is a picture of the believer and “saving faith”.
2) We know that Moses had to change his way of life, a picture of being “Born Again”.
3) We see in Moses the ability to have a close and personal relationship with God.
4) We in Moses how God works through the use of His people.
5) We also see how God will fight for those who trust Him!

We first see a mother doing everything in her power to save the life of her newborn baby.

We should understand that as far social ranking of adults, the female Israelite was at the bottom of the list.

Godly mothers are the foundation of most societies today!

This woman who trusted God had no decent clothes and could not buy replacements; she was a slave.
This woman had no possessions and could not own anything, she was a slave.
The woman had no rank or position, she was just a slave with a loving husband and a God who cared!

All through the Bible we see that God uses this type of woman in places where no one else could do what needed to be done.

You will see in this woman was truly a courageous and righteous woman.

Moses was a goodly child!

Act 7:17 But when the time of the promise drew nigh, which God had sworn to Abraham, the people grew and multiplied in Egypt,
Act 7:18 Till another king arose, which knew not Joseph.
Act 7:19 The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and evil entreated our fathers, so that they cast out their young children, to the end they might not live.
Act 7:20 In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father’s house three months:
Act 7:21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
Act 7:22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

God had this plan from the beginning.

We should ask ourselves what do we do when our own government deliberately goes against the Word of God?

We should see that God’s purpose is far more important than our love for our children.

We should see that God only hears the voice of those who believe in Him!

Deu 5:28 And the LORD heard the voice of your words, when ye spake unto me; and the LORD said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people, which they have spoken unto thee: they have well said all that they have spoken.
Deu 5:29 O that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever!

We see that this precious mother had a plan that began with her complete trust in God.

She made a “watertight ark-like basket”
She placed baby Moses inside that basket and then placed that basket in the reeds of the Nile River.

We should know that the Nile River was worshiped as a god to the Egyptian people.

No doubt she knew something of the schedule and the bathing place where Pharaoh’s daughter came to bath.

She knew that Moses could only be saved by some Egyptian official.

Once baby Moses was placed in the River and this princess came to bath, then God took over and caused that ark to float gently right up to this princess of Egypt.

Moses’ older sister Miriam was placed close enough to see what happened.

Remember the female children were mostly safe from harm by the Egyptians.

In the midst of all these things we see that it was “faith” that was the power behind the rescue of baby Moses.

No doubt this precious mother had asked many questions in her prayers.
No doubt the Holy Spirit had placed these thoughts into the mind of this mother.
No doubt this mother’s “faith” would increase as she saw her prayers being answered in a way she could never have dreamed of.

*Exo 2:5 And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river’s side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it.
Exo 2:6 And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews’ children.
Exo 2:7 Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?
Exo 2:8 And Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, Go. And the maid went and called the child’s mother.

When we pray believing we know our prayer reaches into heaven and we know our prayer will be answered.

Sometimes God says yes.
Sometimes God says no.
Sometimes God says wait a little longer.
Sometimes God says, “I did this yesterday”.
Sometimes God says “I have a better plan”

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

We will find that this Scripture becomes so true in our life that we just cannot doubt God!

We should understand that no matter what we see on a map of Egypt in the time of Moses, Egypt is a desert.

True Egypt is that narrow strip of land that borders both sides of the Nile River.

The Nile River was the greatest of the false gods of Egypt!

The Nile has always been a river that overflowed in certain seasons and deposits its mud everywhere.

Rain is not something you see in Egypt it is rain from a far country that feeds the River Nile and brings nourishment to Egypt.

The Egyptians look down to all their gods while believers look up to Heaven.

These things are important as we see this Egyptian princess fin the baby Moses.

Even knowing that this was a Hebrew child she looked upon Moses as a gift from her god!

This is why the mother of Moses, Jochebed placed her baby in this strategic location and had Miriam watching.

Jehovah God was in this thing from the start.

Now watch God work:

This princess did not have time to take care of a small child and neither did she know how.

It was God who pinched baby Moses to cause him to cry.

God is always behind the scenes making sure things go His way and His purpose is fulfilled!

Miriam went and got Moses’ mother Jochebed to nurse and care for her own child in the palace of the King, Pharaoh and paid her big wages to do this.

Only the Lord God of Heaven could cause such things to happen!

*Exo 2:9 And Pharaoh’s daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the woman took the child, and nursed it.
Exo 2:10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

God rewards faith!

Jochebed was hired to nurse her own son and got paid big wages to do so.

While Moses was taught the things of God, he was also taught the politics of the world and the workings of the mighty armies.

Act 7:21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son.
Act 7:22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds.

Moses was taught “faith” by a mother who had seen the results of her own “faith”.

Heb 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;
Heb 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season;
Heb 11:26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

This brings us to another truth for our children.

Pro_22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Why was Moses called Moses?

In many ways Moses was a type of the Christian maybe at the end of the seven years of Tribulation.

Isa 49:22 Thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders.
Isa 49:23 And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.
Isa 49:24 Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?
Isa 49:25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

Amen

King Jesus Came To Save

Jesus Was Born as a King

Book of Matthew Chapter 1

The Book of Matthew. Nowhere in the Bible nor in this blessed book does it say the Matthew was the writer, but the evidence is very strong that he is.

Before the year 100 A D, the early Church historians had already accepted that Matthew was the writer by the Holy Spirit of this great book.

Remember:

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

The key word in this passage is “ALL” which includes the Book of Matthew and the writer Matthew.

Matthew wrote in the Hebrew tongue also using the Hebrew dialect so the early Christians which before 100 A D were mostly Jews could completely understand.

In fact we can say that the Book of Matthew was written to the Jews the Hebrew children.

We can also say the Book of Matthew was written to the Church because Matthew was a Christian writer.

Matthew was claiming the Messiah who came to save the entire world.

The Lord can save anybody, anywhere, anytime!

The Great Deliverer had arrived just as God had promised!

The purpose of the Book of Matthew is to show us the Lord Jesus Christ is the true Messiah but also Savior, and soon returning King of kings and Lord of lords.

Matthew begins by proving that the prophecies of the Old Testament will be fulfilled by the Messiah who is the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Book of Matthew is built around the teaching of the Gospel in a way that is not complicated and easy to be understood.

The Lord keeps salvation simple. You come to Him with a repentant heart and ask for His forgiveness and He will forgive!

Matthew teaches us of our soon coming King.

Matthew begins with the genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ.

*Mat 1:1 The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Matthew begins with proof of the reality of the humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We see the genealogy that was extracted from public archives which were carefully preserved and placed under the special care of the Sanhedrin.

The Sanhedrin are the supreme council of the Jewish people in the time of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Sanhedrin Council can be traced, in the Mishna, to the seventy elders whom Moses was directed to establish with him making seventy-one.

Num 11:16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Gather unto me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom thou knowest to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them unto the tabernacle of the congregation, that they may stand there with thee.
Num 11:17 And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou bear it not thyself alone.

We see that this council was directly established by the Lord.

The one main question that would be asked by ordinary Jews was “Is He Of The House Of David”.

The name most used by the Jews and by foreigners was: “thou Son of David” used 16 times in the “Gospels”.

Mat 15:22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.

Matthew proves that the Lord Jesus is the Son of David and also the Son of Abraham, being then also the son of Adam.

This genealogy extends from father to son whereas, in the Book of Luke the genealogy extends from son to father.

Say what we will about the differences in these two genealogies, the fact remains they both trace the Lord Jesus back to King David, therefore making the Lord Jesus the rightful heir to the throne of Israel according to the commandment of Jehovah God.

The “Virgin Birth” was the means used our Heavenly Father used to cause this to happen!

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

The doctrine of the humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ is equally important as the doctrine of the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ!

1Jn 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
1Jn 4:2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
1Jn 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.

Our Heavenly Father gave to King David the promise of eternal government!

2Sa 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
2Sa 7:13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

This is the Lord Jesus that fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies!

*Mat 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.

If we read closely this line of genealogy, we cannot help but see the “begats” stopped at Joseph. We see that Joseph had a father who was named Jacob after his forefathers, but Joseph did not begat the Messiah. By the power of the Holy Ghost, Matthew simply states that the Messiah was born of Mary just as the prophecy had stated and Joseph had to adopt Jesus placing Him next in line for the throne of Israel that did not exist at that time, as Israel was a conquered nation under Roman power. Rome was very cautious of anyone claiming to be King especially of the Jews.

*Mat 1:17 So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.

We should understand that Matthew divided the genealogy of our Lord Jesus Christ into three sets, each containing fourteen steps of descent because it was a practice familiar to readers of Jewish antiquities.

1) The first period of Israel’s history symbolizes God giving birth to Israel through Abraham and giving dominion through King David.

2) The second symbolizes Israel losing its dominion and being enslaved as a result of God’s judgment upon sin.

3) The third period of Israel’s history symbolizes Israel’s ultimate triumph through the Messiah and and God’s liberating power, still in our future.

Matthew continues by the Holy Spirit to the birth of the Messiah.

*Mat 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.

The Bible explains in great detail the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ according to prophecy.

Remember what the Prophet had said:

Isa 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

This precious young lady had been admired by many and yet slandered and abused by many more in her time and in our day.

An espousal in the time of Christ was betrothing by promise. Today we would say engaged. An engagement can be broken at any time, but an espousal could only be broken by divorce.

Both the man and the woman, because a true marriage can only take place by one man to one woman according to the Scriptures, would promise to stay pure, they both being “virgin” until the time of the wedding.

This Scripture says it so plainly. Mary being espoused to Joseph, “before they came together”, she was found to be pregnant with the Lord Jesus Christ.

Even today the world just refuses to believe such a thing even when in our day any virgin can become pregnant by artificial insemination.

Adam was born without a mother or a father and so was Eve.

These things are not hard to understand if we just trust the Word of God.

If we are to be believers, then we must believe!

The birth of Christ was by the Holy Spirit!

Never before had a man been born “through the Holy Spirit”!

It is important that we trust the truth of the Word of God!

It is also important that we believe that the Lord Jesus Christ was 100% man but also 100% God.

Jesus was born of a virgin by the Holy Ghost.

Our Messiah was not of man but of God.

Emmanuel means “God with us”.

The Greek word for Christ and Messiah is the same word “Christos”.

Messiah is the Hebrew word and Christ is the Greek word and both refer to the same person and they both mean the exact same thing!

The “Anointed of One”. The Anointed One of God!

When the Lord came to this earth as the Messiah “Christ” the Hebrew people were praying dearly for Him to come because of the oppression of Rome.

We know the God always hears the cries of the oppressed!

Life was hard in those days!

People felt that God could not wait much longer.

This is the same feeling we have today!

In fact the believers knew the prophecies of Daniel and knew that time was near,

Many claimed falsely to be the Messiah.

Even Barabbas was an insurrectionist who was leading a rebellion against Rome before he was captured, though we do not see where he claimed to be the Messiah.

He was certainly a murderer as was the government of Rome!

Many believed that Christ would come by the line of King David and free the Jews from the oppression of Rome.
Many believed the Messiah would be a great military leader.
Many believed the Messiah would be the great Spiritual leader who would bring righteousness to all the earth.
Many believed the Messiah would be the One who would bring Peace to all the earth.

All these things are true, but we must wait upon God’s timing.

Jesus the Christ is the Messiah!

Mat 16:17 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 16:18 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Mar 14:61 But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
Mar 14:62 And Jesus said, I am: and ye shall see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

Joh 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.
Joh 4:26 Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.

The name Jesus shows that He was a man.
The name Christ shows that He is God’s “Anointed”, God’s very own Son!

He is the true Prophet:

Deu 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
Deu 18:16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
Deu 18:17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
Deu 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
Deu 18:19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

Compare:

Luk 7:16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

He is the Highest of High Priest:

Psa 110:4 The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

Compare:

Heb 7:23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
Heb 7:24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Heb 7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Heb 7:27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
Heb 7:28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.

He will be King of Kings and Lord of lords:

2Sa 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
2Sa 7:13 He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

Compare:

Joh 12:13 Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Joh 18:36 Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Joh 18:37 Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

Joseph, not understanding at this time, but still loving Mary did not intend to make her a public example.

*Mat 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily.

As men, we can understand the predicament of Joseph, but not many of us would be as understanding as Joseph.

I can tell each of you though, until you have had a visit with the Holy Spirit, you will never understand these things.

Joseph was certainly a righteous man and he did not want an ugly divorce to be with Mary all her days.

Joseph did not want to expose her to a public disgrace!

You see, an espousal was so important that Mary would have been exposed to authorities and she would carry this the rest of her life.

Joseph struggled with his decision. Joseph was in a predicament!

The birth of Christ Jesus was a predicament for Joseph.

Joseph loved Mary dearly and he did not want to see her hurt, but like most men he lost his trust in her being a faithful wife.

As a man of God, Joseph was not Mary’s judge, God was.

We must understand that love covers a multitude of sins!

1Pe 4:8 And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

In the Jewish marriage there were three steps.

1) There was the engagement. The parents usually determined who their children would marry.
2) The betrothal. At a certain time, the couple would agree or disagree with the engagement. If they agreed the betrothal was legally binding.
3) The marriage. The consummation of the couple would take place.

We know that Joseph did not consummate his marriage to Mary, until after the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ!

We all wish our young people would take more time in their decision to marry and to live together before marriage is sin!

While Joseph thought on these things, he had a visit from on High.

*Mat 1:20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

We should understand that when the Lord has something for us, he will not leave us in the dark about it.

Joseph was born in the line of King David.

Joseph thought of nothing else but about his marriage which showed his great love for Mary his espoused wife.

Joseph went to the Lord seeking answers and the Lord responded by sending the angel Gabriel.

We know Gabriel as one of the three archangels of God.

Gabriel spoke to Joseph as in a dream and gave Joseph the answer to his thoughts.

Maybe not the answer Joseph thought, but the answer that was the right thing to do!

Joseph did not feel like a king, but he might be king of Israel if not for Rome.

Joseph would not have claimed the throne because it would have caused his death.

Joseph was awakened to the fact the Messiah would come and come to his own household as a babe born of Mary.

At this time Joseph was just a carpenter.

We must get alone with God when the decisions we are trying to make, go beyond us and we need help.

We might be surprised at the message we hear from the Lord as was Joseph.

The Messiah would be born JESUS. (Jehoshua) which means Savior, Deliverer.

The Messiah would first come to save, but not first as King, though He would be born as King once Joseph adopted Him.

Since Jesus cannot die, he will be King forever!

He will save His people from their sins!

The Hebrew form Joshua means Jehovah is salvation. Jesus would be this Savior!

Why was this done? To fulfill prophecy!

*Mat 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying,
Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

When God says something is going to happen then we can trust that it will happen!

The Lord Jesus Christ came first to save.

He returned to Heaven as the High Priest to those who believe!

This same Jesus will return as King!

Act_1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Just because most of the world rejects this truth does not make it any less true!

Prophecy is the Word of God, not the words of men!
Prophecy is the future revealed by God Himself!
The prophet is a messenger of God and not the spokesmen of God!
Prophecy must come true or God would be a liar!

It is impossible for God to lie!

Heb_6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

Matthew began by saying this is way the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about.

a) Mary was found with child by the Holy Spirit.
b) What is conceived inside her came by the Holy Spirit.
c) All this was done according to prophecy. Isa 7:14
d) All this took place to fulfill prophecy.

Matthew did not give us the details of the birth of Christ.

It is important for us to know that the Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah are fulfilled in Jesus the Messiah. (Jesus Christ)

The Jews needed to know the Messiah was born of a virgin just as proclaimed by the prophets!

The Lord Jesus Christ was not born out of wedlock as proclaimed by the naysayers.

Joseph took Mary to be His wife even though he did not consummate his marriage to Mary until after the birth of our Lord and Savior.

*Mat 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
Mat 1:25 And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.

You know when the Lord gives you something then you can be at peace of mind as you go about life.

Joseph was going to Marry the love of his life and raise a family and none of that had changed.

There would be one addition to the family that Joseph had not planned on, but it would not change his responsibilities.

Joseph already obeyed God as did Mary, and none of that would change.

When we trust the Word of God it is not important what the world thinks!

Not many people would ever believe what the Angel Gabriel had told them both.

Mary had some assurance from her cousin Elisabeth who had also received a great miracle.

Joseph was merciful and gentle toward Mary even though the child she carried was not his own, but He would be raised as his own.

Joseph forgave as he was forgiven, and he had the attitude of a believer.

We know Joseph raised his son well as any father would because the Lord Jesus was also known as a Carpenter, which showed that Joseph loved his son and was preparing Him!

Mar_6:3 Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James, and Joses, and of Juda, and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him.

His family also considered His brothers and sisters!

Oh what a Savior!

Amen

From Riches to the Slave Market

Joseph and his Brothers

Book of Genesis Chapters 36 through Chapter 38

As we go through these last lessons in the Book of Genesis, we need to remember the time these children spent in Mesopotamia.

How they witnessed the envy and jealousy of the wives of their father.

How two sisters were locked in a bitter feud over them as they were born.

How their grandfather had treated their father Jacob so deceitfully.

How in all their time had had not seen much love from their parents and their grandfather.

They had witnessed envy and jealousy and strife all their days.

We can just imagine how these mothers had taught hatred.

And then Jacob got in on this thing by choosing to show favoritism to Joseph because he was born of Rachel the only wife he truly loved.

This is no way to raise children and we will begin to see some of the results of these things in our lesson today.

Did God also show favoritism to Joseph or does God just try to show how He cares for abused children?

The life of Joseph is expressed in many words in the rest of the Book of Genesis and there are many lessons we can learn from these chapters of Joseph’s life.

Israel would soon need an earthly savior and God chose Joseph to be that earthly savior.

Joseph is a prime example in the Old Testament of what a Christian should be in the New Testament!

Joseph was raised in a wealthy home, but he spent many years as a slave before rising to a place of power.

As a slave he worked hard enough to become the manager of his master’s estate.
As a prisoner he worked so hard he became manager of the prison.
As a man of God, he was called upon to give spiritual guidance to Pharaoh and became second in command of Egypt.

All these things happened because he was a willing servant of God!

What did the Apostle Paul teach us?

Php 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.
Php 4:12 I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
Php 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Joseph never took his eyes off the Lord at any time in his life!

We must also never forget that Joseph was just a sinner used by the Lord to accomplish certain things.

Joseph became the deliverer of Israel as Israel grew from a family into a nation!

God has a plan for each one that He saves if we will be just as willing as Joseph, and be content as Paul no matter our circumstances.

We may be called upon to do many things in these last days.

We must completely understand though many things happen that we do not agree with, the Almighty God is the supreme Ruler of this world!

We must never blame Jehovah for the way the world is going, we must accept that God knows what He is doing and do the work he gave us to do right up till the sound of the trumpet.

God is the Sovereign Ruler of this world that He created that we are in the process of ruining.

*Gen 37:3 Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.

The first thing we see is that Jacob is still showing favoritism in this family, this time aimed at Joseph.

These other sons and daughters have witnessed these things all their days.

When you have one father and four different mothers there will be problems in the house as each mother tries to do the best for her own children.

Favoritism causes division within the home. It did then and it does now!

When Joseph was old enough, he began feeding the flocks along with his other brothers.

We know Israel was rich and richness was counted by the number of animals he owned in that day and Israel had many animals.

From the stories of Laban and his daughters we found that Jacob was good with animals and his sons would have learned from him.

Joseph was with his brothers trying to learn the skills necessary to be a shepherd.

The truth is Israel (Jacob) should have had more sense than to single out Joseph for special treatment as he had been a part of these sort of things all his own life and it was multiplied as he had spent 20 years with Laban and been misused himself.

Joseph was his favorite son because Rachel was his favorite wife, and all the children knew these things to be true.

For God’s own plan, he had equipped Joseph with some skills it did not seem his brothers had but we know God does not show favoritism to anyone, especially His own children, whom we are.

We all play a part in the plan of God for this world and He is making all the arrangements for our future home with Him in His House.

We are all different and we all have different skills, but it is how we use those skills that can be a benefit in the work of the Lord.

Once we are saved then the Holy Spirit will decide what else we need, and He may even increase those skills we have or turn us to an entirely different set of skills.

Now we cannot be sure just what a coat of different colors would look like, but we can be sure none of the other children who were all grown men at this time had one like it.

And it being hand made by dad made it even more hated by the others.

It was a rich looking garment of royalty that a shepherd would have no need of, but it is here where we can see in typology our Savior.

Our Savior took off the robes of royalty to put on the coat of a shepherd.

Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Joh 17:5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

None of these things set well with Joseph’s brothers.

Here again we will see another type of Christ as He came to His own and was rejected by them.

*Gen 37:4 And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

As we already know from previous Scripture, Jacob loved Rachel far above his other wives.

No doubt all the other boys who were now grown men had lived in this scenario all their days.

They had been eyewitnesses to the deceit of Laban their grandfather.
They had been eyewitness to the envy and jealousy of Leah and Rachel because they lived in the middle of it.
They now witnessed the favoritism of Jacob toward Joseph.

Joseph was partially beloved for his mother’s sake.

But Joseph was the only son who was at home with his father during Israel’s older years as Joseph had just turned 17.

And no doubt Joseph was just special in his ways and just a little bit different from the other boys.

When Jacob started dressing Joseph in finer clothes, it just brought all these things to a head and we already know “envy” brings with it, untold sin.

Pro 27:4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

In a family we are born to help one another, and we should take this mindset out into the world, but envy causes us to destroy one another, even if they are close family.

Joseph’s 10 brothers hated him so much that they could not even speak to him in words of peace. They could not offer him peace. They could not even wish him well.

Then God steps in with prophetic dreams.

*Gen 37:5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more.
Gen 37:6 And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:
Gen 37:7 For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

We do not know if Joseph could feel the presence of the hatred of his brothers.

We can be sure that Israel (the man) did not realize just how much Joseph was hated by his brothers and we see that the mothers are not even written about which means that the Holy Spirit did not think it relevant to tell us about their ways at this time.

We can be sure this was not a happy family!

We know the future of Joseph so we can only say that God was already preparing Joseph for his future.

We should understand that God will always prepare us for some future part of His plan if we make ourselves “teachable” and “available” as our Pastor preached just recently.

If we already think we know everything then God cannot teach us anything about the truth.

We know that Joseph told his dream to his brothers, but Joseph never got the opportunity to interpret his dream as they did this themselves.

We should understand that it was the sons of the two handmaids that had become concubines that Joseph was telling his dream to.

These four young men probably felt less love from their father Israel than them all.

This dream did not set well with them according to their own interpretation.

We know from the Scriptures that they did indeed bow down to Joseph once Pharaoh had made Joseph second in command of all Egypt.

Gen 42:6 And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph’s brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.
Gen 42:7 And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food.

Again, we find that these things are written more for the Church than for these sons of Israel.

We also can see that when Joseph knew his brothers, he spoke rough to them as they had to him all their days when he was a young teenager.

We can see that these four brothers of the handmaids had it in their mind that Joseph would never get the opportunity to rule over them, they would kill him first.

*Gen 37:8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words.

if you have read the entire Book of Genesis you know that these sons of Israel had made the right interpretation of Joseph’s dream.

Gen 42:6 And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph’s brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth.

On the day of the dream, they knew Joseph could not rule over them because they would not allow it under their own power.

If Jacob made Joseph to be the head of the family, they would not ever agree with Joseph!

Joseph was despised even more.
Joseph was hated even more.

Makes us think of the days of Jesus Christ.

We are told that the Lord Jesus Christ will one day rule this entire world.

Every knee will bow to Him!

Rom_14:11 For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.

All those who already despise the Lord, certainly hate Him even more when they are told that they will bow to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Satan goes berserk when you tell him this!

Satan still has a belief that he can defeat Christ Jesus and so do his followers. They are so confused to the truth.

The truth will still hold to be the truth and every soul that has ever lived will bow to the Lord Jesus Christ!

Php_2:10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

The true Church, that is hated today will be even more hated on the day of the Rapture.

We can just imagine how much hate boils over at the resurrection of the dead and they face the Lord God Judge of Righteousness.

Rom_1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

Mat 22:31 But as touching the resurrection of the dead, have ye not read that which was spoken unto you by God, saying,
Mat 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

But Joseph dreamed another dream.

*Gen 37:9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me.
Gen 37:10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth?

This dream is similar to the first one in that it was Joseph who his family would bow to.

In the Bible we know that most all dreams were prophecy of some future event.

Jacob (Israel) had such dreams and though he rebuked his son, he did observe the saying of his son.

Was Joseph being cocky? Was Jacob rebuking Joseph to ease the hatred of his other sons?

This dream is a similar dream to the first and it insured the truth of the first dream.

Gen 41:32 And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass.

Joseph could say this to Pharaoh because he had experienced it himself.

What we must realize is, that God is working behind the scenes to carry out His own will. He is still doing this today and He will continue until things reach their peak as described by the prophets and by the Book of Revelation.

Just as God put things in place for Joseph and Mary to go to Bethlehem to fulfill prophecy, God is putting things in place with Joseph and his family to fulfill prophecy.

What had God told Abraham.

Gen 15:13 And he said unto Abram, Know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years;
Gen 15:14 And also that nation, whom they shall serve, will I judge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

God used a teenage son of Jacob to get these things started.

None of his brothers could understand what was happening, but they too would be used of God and they did not even realize it.

His brothers had decided to get rid of Joseph and God used them to do this thing.

They would not be allowed to kill Joseph.

Watch how God’s plan works.

*Gen 37:23 And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, his coat of many colours that was on him;
Gen 37:24 And they took him, and cast him into a pit: and the pit was empty, there was no water in it.

Notice these four sons of the handmaids who hated Joseph and would have killed him, while the remaining sons were satisfied just to get rid of him and not kill him, but these to also despised that coat made by their father.

Envy could have caused murder, but it also would cause their own father to suffer for many years when they all knew the truth.

For 21 years they allowed their father to mourn for Joseph even though they knew what happened to him!

In typology we know that the Lord Jesus Christ was stripped of His robe.

Psa 22:18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

Mat 27:28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.

Also in typology we see the pit as a place called Hell.

Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

Hell is also a place without water!

Luk_16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

All the lost have a fear of the pit!

Isa_24:17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.

Those bound for Hell have rejected the truth of God.

Isa_38:18 For the grave cannot praise thee, death can not celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth.

Joseph would be saved from the pit or from Hell, just as every born again, child of God, because of the “Grace of God”!

Isa_38:17 Behold, for peace I had great bitterness: but thou hast in love to my soul delivered it from the pit of corruption: for thou hast cast all my sins behind thy back.

We can also see this pit as the empty grave of the Lord then Reuben found this pit to be empty.

The grave of Jesus is still empty!

The enemy will deliver Joseph to the auction block as a slave.

*Gen 37:28 Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.

If not for these seed of Ishmael, Joseph may have been left in that pit to die.

God’s plan was to safely get Joseph to Egypt so He provided transportation!

We see that where envy reigns there is no pity!

Humanity is forgotten when envy reigns.

Have we not seen all these things the last few months in our elections?

Those who have envied and hated president Trump, have not just shown that hatred, but they certainly will not show pity and they want his life destroyed.

Why do not the American people see this and put a stop to it?

The brothers of Joseph continued until Joseph was completely out of their site and out of their lives, or so they thought.

We see malice is like a deadly poison.

Pro 27:4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

Joseph had begged his brothers for his life, but their ears were closed.

Only Reuben seemed to have some feelings for his younger brother.

*Gen 37:29 And Reuben returned unto the pit; and, behold, Joseph was not in the pit; and he rent his clothes.

It may have been Reuben’s plan to slip away to do something and then return to get Joseph out of that pit and take him to safety, but the others may have caught on.

Gen 37:22 And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands, to deliver him to his father again. ?

It is also curious to see that it was Judah who suggested to sell Joseph.

Gen 37:25 And they sat down to eat bread: and they lifted up their eyes and looked, and, behold, a company of Ishmeelites came from Gilead with their camels bearing spicery and balm and myrrh, going to carry it down to Egypt.
Gen 37:26 And Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother, and conceal his blood?

It was also a Jew who betrayed the Lord Jesus Christ for silver.

Life was just not precious enough in those days and we live in a world where life is not very precious today.

This is why the Lord teaches us to choose life because all that Satan has is death.

Deu_30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Reuben had warned his brothers about harming Joseph, but they had paid him no attention.

Gen_42:22 And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.

We should understand God always hears the cry of the innocent!

Psa 9:12 When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.

When Reuben rent his clothes it showed his brothers how disappointed he was in them, but Reuben never told his father Jacob the truth for some reason.

What is the truth?

Pro 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

This is another law that God will never break.

We will never be able to defy God and get away with it!

No matter what we think about the politics of our nation this tiny Scripture in the Book of Proverbs will hold true.

God will not be mocked for very much longer!

*Gen 37:30 And he returned unto his brethren, and said, The child is not; and I, whither shall I go?
Gen 37:31 And they took Joseph’s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood;
Gen 37:32 And they sent the coat of many colours, and they brought it to their father; and said, This have we found: know now whether it be thy son’s coat or no.

Reuben asked his brothers how would he ever explain to his father the things about Joseph?

These wicked brothers already had devised a scheme.

They killed one of the goats and dipped that special coat of colors into the blood and sent by a servant to their father.

They were unwilling to face Israel until they knew his reaction!

Their story would be that the coat was found, and they had not seen Joseph.

All those who do such things should know that there will be another special coat dipped in blood one day soon.

Rev 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.
Rev 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
Rev 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

These ten sons of Jacob did not have the fortitude to witness the outburst of grief from their father.

They did not want to be there to answer any questions Jacob might have.

These who were willing to kill their own brother but sold him into slavery. became cowards willing to hide their crime and each one had to agree to never let this information come out so their father would know what they had done.

God has another little rule about these things.

Num_32:23 But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and “be sure your sin will find you out”.

All the hidden wickedness and corruption in our own government will eventually be found out. We can be sure of this!

Another thing we might not realize is, there were some wild animals in that day that would attack humans.

*Gen 37:33 And he knew it, and said, It is my son’s coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces.
Gen 37:34 And Jacob rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.
Gen 37:35 And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down into the grave unto my son mourning. Thus his father wept for him.

When we think of lions, we think of the African lions that roar on the plains in Africa. Few people know that there is actually another lion species, the Asiatic Lion, that used to roam Asia as well.

So, there were wild beast in this area in that day and humans were attacked by these animals. It was not too farfetched, for Jacob to believe his son was killed by some wild animal.

It would be 22 years before Jacob would see his son Joseph again, but Jacob did mourn for his son longer than what we would call normal for that day. If there is a precise time of mourning for such a loss.

We should notice that these wicked sons did not actually say that Joseph was dead, but they left their father with very little choice, but to believe Joseph was dead saying they did not find his body which was no doubt rent to pieces.

What do we know is that once Benjamin was born Jacob became ever more protective of him!

We also know that Jacob had deceived his father Isaac.

As parents we also think the worst when something happens to our children. Though Jacob mourned, Joseph was safe in the arms of God stationed to save all his family and preparing to build a nation.

No human could sit down and make such a plan as this plan of God!

*Gen 37:36 And the Midianites sold him into Egypt unto Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh’s, and captain of the guard.

Joseph had some hard lessons to learn at such a young age. We know he was only 17 years of age at this time.

As far as Jacob was concerned, all the things that happened to him after this were against him.

Gen_42:36 And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.

In reality, all these things had a purpose because he was living in the plan of God which can never fail!

Now this does not mean that God approved of what happened to Joseph, God already knew what He was going to do.

God never approves of the mistreatment of any human being!

God just takes something bad and makes something good come out of it!

Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Our God is so great that He can work out His purpose even when people are doing their worst as we see today.

The plan of God cannot fail nor can it be hindered by any human being or any group of humans.

Amen

The Savior of Israel

The Savior of Israel

Book of Isaiah 43

Today we will look at the true relation of Israel to Jehovah God. We know that God took a single family out of a city called Ur and over a period of time, God created the nation of Israel.

The Israel that was eradicated by Rome in 70 A D and resurfaced on May the 14, 1948, even that being a fulfillment of prophecy.

Isa_66:8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.

On the very first day of Israel’s rebirth, it was the United States of America that confirmed that rebirth at the United Nations, fulfilling Bible prophecy!

In all those years, the Jewish people never lost their true identity.

No other nation has a history, as the history of the Jews and of Israel!

In the world of today, no other nation stirs up this world, good and bad, as the tiny nation of Israel.

In this lesson, we will see the enormous price Jehovah has paid to ransom this nation that He so loves.

And what is the truth of Israel?

Isa 45:17 But Israel shall be saved in the LORD with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

So, before this sinful world ends and the new world begins, Israel will again be redeemed by the Lord!

It was God’s intent that Israel be the nation that would carry the message of salvation throughout this world and so far, they have failed to do so and now this is the job of the Church until the Church Age is over when the Church is called out to Heaven.

It will be during the 7 years of Tribulation that Israel will be given that opportunity again and this time they will succeed in completing the work God has desired of them all these years!

Jer_30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

During the Tribulation Period.

Rev 7:4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

The 144,000 or the perfect number of missionary/evangelist of Israel and the results:

Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
Rev 7:10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

That “Deliverer”, is still Jesus Christ our Lord!

Even though this nation deserved the wrath of God, they will see the “Grace” of God. Sounds familiar does it not!

Rom 5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:
Rom 5:21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

It will still require “Faith” and “Repentance”. God will never forgive sin without these things!

What is being “Born Again”?

*****Isa 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

It was the LORD, Jehovah who created this nation and He will save them in such a manner as if He created them again!

This is the same way the Lord saves each believer!

1Pe_1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Is salvation a creative act of God?

Gal 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Gal 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, “but a new creature”.

In our lesson today, Jehovah wanted Israel to know that He would not forsake them, He would again reach out to rescue them.

We should also understand clearly that if we cannot recognize the Lord as our Creator, and the true Creation account in the Book of Genesis, we will never truly understand the Bible!

God is in the business of “creating life”!

God is in the business of “forming us” if we abide by His Word. He gives us shape and forms our relations and our relationships.

God is in the business of “redemption”!

He created us, He paid for us, He will create us anew, He will make us a friend, a child, family.

He owns all those He has purchased with the Blood of Jesus Christ, we have a new owner!

1Co_6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

When a Hebrew sold themselves to slavery to pay some debt, they knew that time that was required of them was over when their name was called and their freedom was assured. It fact, a trumpet would sound announcing that freedom and we can be sure that each one of them heard that trumpet.

God knows our name and He has called us out of our wages of sin as the slaves of Satan and has paid our debt and has made us free.

Joh_8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

God’s ownership brings with it many marvelous things throughout our life time!

*****Isa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

We should clearly understand this Scripture!

Just as it was with Israel, there will be some, if not many, calamities in our lives and some of them may be very great and God’s promise is that He may not stop them all but He will be with us through every one of them.

Our troubles may vary. Today some may be as waters and some of those, as raging rivers. Tomorrow, we may be asked to walk through the fire and the flame, to endure trials that we cannot even imagine, but again the Lord will be with us.

Our example of this in Scripture, is God walking with three Jewish boys, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego!

Dan_3:20 And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

Dan 3:25 He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.

We are to understand that these things are not just maybe but we will all go through some things in our lifetime that will cause us great grief!

The truth is God will never forsake those that trust Him and He will walk through that same fire with us and cross those raging rivers with us.

Many times, the will of God will allow us to avoid these things, or He will provide a means of escape or He will just hold our hand as we go through them.

These things are His choice and not our choice but we should remember these words:

Rom_8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

In all these things God expects us to continue in our ministry and every child of God has a ministry!

2Ti_4:5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.

All these things are also true for the nation of Israel, which will find their fulfillment during the time of Jacob’s Trouble where the Lord will walk hand in hand with those who trust Him.

Throughout the history of Israel, God has always rescued Israel from all her distresses, this is not going to change today in our day!

There will always be a remnant that will repent and return to the Lord!

Just as it was with Israel, God has created every Christian and for us to be witnesses then we must remain in His safety until our task is done and God will then take us home to Heaven. In fact, God will most always use our physical death to be a witness to someone, either as a martyr, or to encourage some friend or especially some family member who is lost.

Throughout the history of Israel, God has always rescued Israel from all her distresses.

What the Lord is teaching is us is, that trials cannot injure those whose “faith” is in the Lord.

Satan will always be busy trying to get us to abandon the Lord and become useless in our ministry!

There is yet an even greater reason why we should trust the Lord! We will be on the “Winning Side”!

*****Isa 43:3 For I am the LORD thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.

First, we see the Lord says, “I have redeemed thee”.
Also notice, this is the great “I AM” who spoke to Moses!
“I have called thee by thy name”
“Thou art mine”

Next, we see the Lord says, “When thou passest through the waters I will be with thee”.
God will be with us in strange places.
God will be with us in dangerous places.

Now we see “I have ransomed thee”
God will give up everyone else for the sake of His people.
For Israel “God gave great nations” Egypt, Ethiopia, Seba. We see that God will always give the oppressor, the enemy, before He will ever give up even one His people!

1Co_1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

**For the Christian, God has given His choicest gift. The Lord Jesus Christ is much more precious than any nation!

There is nothing more precious to the Lord than to see His children enjoying life and being obedient to the Word of God!

Ecc_5:18 Behold that which I have seen: it is good and comely for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy the good of all his labour that he taketh under the sun all the days of his life, which God giveth him: for it is his portion.

Those that know the Lord in a personal way are very precious to the Lord!

*****Isa 43:4 Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life.

Precious means something of great value! This are the words of the Almighty Living God showing the love of His great heart!

Before we can recognize the “preciousness” in God’s sight we must grafted into the family of God by “faith” in the work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Jews have been (“wast” past tense) precious since the time God’s promise was given to Jacob!

Gen 28:14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.

It should be obvious that the significance of these words points to the ministry of Christ and the Kingdom of Christ!

We must also realize that nation after nation fell by the sword of Israel before the birth of Jesus Christ and God will not forget this and He will surely keep every promise He has ever made to these wonderful people.

We must also realize that we are precious in the sight of God because He paid the ultimate price for “whosoever” will call upon His name, with the death of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.

We are precious in the sight of God because of the workmanship that has been spent on us to make us valuable, and thank goodness God will continue to work of us until we are made perfect and then we can go home!

We are precious in God’s sight because we are fashioned and formed to be like the Lord Jesus Christ!

Every child of God is honorable because we have the Holy Spirit living with us.

God has removed us from the rim of Hell and has made us to be princes.

We are honorable when we are involved in the work that the Lord has given us to do!

1Co_4:10 We are fools for Christ’s sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised.

We may not be able to walk into the chambers of our President or even our own Governor but every child of God is honourable enough to go boldly into the throne room of God.

Heb_4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We are honourable enough to be offered the greatest gift that could be offered to anyone and fools not to reach out and accept this gift!

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We are honourable because we are adopted into the family of God and born into His household.

Tit 3:4 But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Tit 3:6 Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
Tit 3:7 That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

We are most honourable to God because we are His creation, an earthly vessel. We were marred, not by the potter’s hands but by this world and became a thing without honor but in and by Jesus Christ, we have been created again, not remade but a complete new creation!

Knowing all these things why would we be afraid?

*****Isa 43:5 Fear not: for I am with thee: I will bring thy seed from the east, and gather thee from the west;
Isa 43:6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;

What is the truth? God will certainly gather His people, the Jews, from the four corners of this earth and return them to the promised land!

Rom 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
Rom 11:26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
Rom 11:27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

Rom 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
Rom 11:30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Rom 11:31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

We would be foolish if we do not see that as Christians we need to be involved in this work. (through our mercy they also may obtain mercy)!

The Jews have been afflicted by this world long enough and we need to stand with them and aid them in any way that we are able!

This does not just mean that we are to just be witnesses of the Lord Jesus Christ but we are also to live our lives showing them by example that they are not alone and that God’s love will win them over just as it has the Church of Jesus Christ.

We must remember it is only through God’s covenant with Abraham that we have been saved!

Rom 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.

Rom 4:19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara’s womb:
Rom 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Rom 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.
Rom 4:22 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.
Rom 4:23 Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him;
Rom 4:24 But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead;
Rom 4:25 Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.

And then God explains why humans were created.

*****Isa 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Most everyone reach that point in their lives asking, “What am I?” “Why am I here?” “What purpose do I have?”

God says He created us so He could show us His Glory!

God says He made us so we could also be glorified!

God says He has formed us to know His truth!

2Co_6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

We will have God as our Father.
We will have His Son, Jesus as our Redeemer.
We will have the Holy Spirit to lead us until we are glorified.

Each child of God was not only created but they are formed and that work will be completed by the Holy Ghost by the time we meet Christ by death or by the “Rapture of the Church”.

Php_1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

We were saved, we are being saved daily, and we will be saved eternally.

This message from Isaiah certainly concerns these Jews in captivity who our called of God but this passage is also for those who are called by the name of Christ, which is “Christian”.

Many people are saved by “faith”. Being saved will make you a “Saint”. To be a “Christian” is to live our lives so that other people can see the Lord Jesus Christ in us, “called by His name”!

Creation, formation, glorification, are done by God and for His own glory!

Pro 16:4 The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

What should every human being realize before we can begin our walk with the Lord?

Rev 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

And to whom is the message of God sent?

*****Isa 43:8 Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.

These are not people who are blind and people who cannot hear!

These are people who have eyes but cannot see the truth of God and people who have ears but cannot hear the truth of the Word of God!

In this Scripture, God is speaking to those disobedient Jews but we can see that it is really intended for all those who have rejected the truth of God!

The big difference today if we accept the Word of God as the truth, then we have heard these prophecies and have seen many of them fulfilled and many of them partially fulfilled to be fulfilled later. We are blind if we cannot see these things! We are deaf and dumb if we cannot believe what God says!

2Co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
2Co 4:5 For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.
2Co 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

It is those who are lost that we are to reach out to with this message of truth!

In fact, God says bring forth your brightest people of all nations and prove Him to be wrong.

God says to bring forth the gods that you serve and prove they have equal or greater power than Jehovah God!

*****Isa 43:9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can declare this, and shew us former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.

God says for all nations to gather together and one by one they could offer their arguments against the “Gospel” and the truth of God and then they could prove that the ways of the world are better. Reminds of the time of the Prophet Elijah.

1Ki 18:20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.
1Ki 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.
1Ki 18:22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

In our lesson, it is the Holy One of Israel against the gods of all the nations of the world.

The Lord is never too timid to challenge the ways of the world and is if the ways of the world can bring eternal life, when all proof points only to a life of destruction, that ends in eternal damnation.

God says for the world to send out it’s prophets and see who can predict the future in truth.

Let the world show proof of the existence of the gods they worship and any power they have besides the power of destruction and captivity.

Joshua said to Israel at one time:

Jos 24:14 Now therefore fear the LORD, and serve him in sincerity and in truth: and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the flood, and in Egypt; and serve ye the LORD.
Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Jos 24:19 And Joshua said unto the people, Ye cannot serve the LORD: for he is an holy God; he is a jealous God; he will not forgive your transgressions nor your sins.
Jos 24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.
Jos 24:21 And the people said unto Joshua, Nay; but we will serve the LORD.

Jos 24:23 Now therefore put away, said he, the strange gods which are among you, and incline your heart unto the LORD God of Israel.

The Lord God Jehovah will offer this same challenge to the world on any given day and the results will be the same. The truth of this world is always lie and deceit and the Word of God is always true!

This world will never be able to prove its false beliefs and its philosophy!

The truth of God is that this world does not possess the ability to stop the spread of the Word of God nor the power that is contained in the Word of God. God will simply not allow it!

It is only the rejection of the truth of God that hinders this world and will lead to its destruction!

Even this world will be witnesses to the truth of God and that day may not be very far off.

Luk 17:28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
Luk 17:29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Luk 17:30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

It would truly be terrible to be a witness of the truth of God in these days and then end up in Hell!

*****Isa 43:10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

A witness is someone who testifies of the truth to help others in making the right decisions.

Today we see that witnesses in the court room support the lies of the world and the innocent are punished.

These things will never change until we make the primary qualification of a true witness, to have an intelligent faith in God.

In fact, our government will never change until the primary qualification of the politician, is to have a true faith in God!

It is the customs of this world that is the major destructive force of this world!

It is the Saints of God who are the true witnesses in this world, so it is the Saints of God, who the Lord has chosen as His servants.

Why?

1) They the Saints of God may know Him in a personal way.
2) That they might believe Him. Believe every Word He says, entrust all they are to Him, and stand on the promises of God.
3) That they know the true God of the Scriptures and value Him for all He is in His Majestic Glory!

If we cannot know, that we know, that we know, that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Messiah, and the only True God, and the Savior of this world, we do not know the True and the Living God!

There is no other means of salvation beyond the Lord Jesus Christ!

*****Isa 43:11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Jesus said it like this:

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Joh 10:30 I and my Father are one.

The world can pick up its stones and stone us to death but it will never change this truth.
The world can penalize all those that know this is true but it will never change this truth.
The world can close its ears to this truth but they will just be missing out on the plan of God.
The world can continue to be foolish but it will never change this truth!

Again, the LORD says:

Rev 22:11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Rev 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.
Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Rev 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Rev 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

Some people will never accept the truth of God to their own demise but that does not mean we stop asking them to believe the truth!

There is no Savior beside the Lord!

*****Isa 43:12 I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God.

Once Israel left the captivity of Babylon, there could not be found one who served a strange god.

Once the believer becomes a Christian, there cannot be found one who will serve a strange god.

There are many false Christians just as well as there are false Jews!

Rom 2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
Rom 2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Before the Church is was the Jew who was to teach the oracles of God!

Rom 3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
Rom 3:2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

A true witness then knows the truth of God!

Not one “idol” can announce the deliverance of any people!
Not one “idol” can deliver any people!
Not one “idol” can show the deliverance of any people!

It is only with deliverance that we can claim we have a true God!

What is the truth of the child of God?

Psa 84:9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed.
Psa 84:10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. “I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness”.
Psa 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.
Psa 84:12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve the God of truth!

God has many witnesses:

1) Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

2) Act 14:16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.
Act 14:17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

3) Psa 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

4) Joh_8:18 I am one that bear witness of myself, and the Father that sent me beareth witness of me.

5) Rom_8:16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

6) Act 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

If we as Christians cannot also be witnesses for the Lord we are not only failures in our Christian life, we are also committing the sin of disobedience.

Our God, our Creator, our Savior and Redeemer and His Word is the truth!

*****Isa 43:13 Yea, before the day was I am he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

There are so many good Scriptures in the Bible but how can this one not be one of the favorites of everyone?

God had this plan of salvation in mind before the creation of the first day!

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

No one and nothing can turn back the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ!

The worker. The One who causes this to happen is Jehovah God Himself!

Eph_1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him “who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will”:

His field of labor, is throughout all His creation, everywhere!

His object, is to gather all His people together who are living in darkness, blinded by Satan and enticed to sin by his methods.

The “Center” in which all this work is completed is the Lord Jesus Christ!

Isa 14:27 For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

God is everlasting.
God is unchangeable, always the same.
God can deliver His people out of any circumstance, no matter what it is.
God will accomplish His plan, either salvation, or judgment and no one, man or Devil, can hinder Him.

All opposition to Jehovah God is fruitless and foolish! There is no happiness outside the plan and the will of God!

God guarantees the deliverance of all those that abide by His salvation plan.

Whatever God does, is always the right thing to do, His Holy perfection demands that He does what is right!

God condemns all oppressors, dooming them to defeat and eternal judgment!

God promises all those who submit to His will victory, we are on the “Winning Side”! Amen.
