Human Behavior Toward the Truth

The Behavior of Israel

Book of Deuteronomy Chapters 12 14 and 18

In our world of today the existence of our Creator God is denied and this is what skeptics do, but this is simply a copout.

We see that most of the nation of Israel had the same thought. They either asked for more proof or they asked for a clearer proof.

In order for Israel to do this, they had to deny the things God had already shown them and He had shown them many miracles and many other things!

All those ten plagues shown to Pharaoh, the crossing on dry land at the Red Sea, the water from the rock, the manna, and the many other miracles God had shown them.

It is the same today!

If we used the evidence God has already given to us, we would conclude that God does certainly exists and what we see did not come about by some accident.

These Jews had witnessed clear demonstrations of the power of God!

Just like today, they simply tossed that evidence away and said no evidence does exists.

This is the way of the unbeliever!

They believe what they want to and slander everyone who disagrees with them!

We see this in our world today and we see it in the politics of today.

When we mention the virgin birth of our Lord Jesus, they say it was impossible that it took place.

Even today virgins can have children with the use of artificial insemination.

When we mention the parting of the Red Sea again, they say it was impossible.

When the destruction of Pharaoh and his mighty army is mentioned, they say it did not take place, but you can still find the remnants of Pharaohs army on the floor of the Red Sea.

All the things of Creation and the Prophets are all treated this same way!

Doing these things means to them that the Bible is a book of fables.

The Bible tells us of a God who is a friend of humanity, and the world does not want such a God!

The Bible teaches us of the faithfulness of our Holy God and since this cannot be seen in humanity, then it certainly must not exist at all.

It takes more faith to believe in evolution than to believe in a Creator yet, these people would rather believe a lie just so they do not have to acknowledge a Creator.

Just like Israel, the world has allowed such disbelief and deception to rule in this world, where they cannot prove anything, they say they believe.

Responsibility requires two things:

1) Sufficient information
2) The ability to obey

If there is any possibility that God exist, and He does, then we had better be obedient to His Word!

Hesitating to acknowledge the existence of God, is then a criminal action toward our children and grandchildren deserving of severe punishment which God has said will certainly take place.

There are two great pillars on which the revelation of God must stand:

A) Miracles. Impossible to humans yet not to God.
B) Prophecies. Not one prophecy has failed up to today’s history and the Word of God will always be found to be true.

We worship the same God as does these Jews!

God simply told Moses, these are the things they will do, when they go into the Promised Land to possess it.

*Deu 12:1 These are the statutes and judgments, which ye shall observe to do in the land, which the LORD God of thy fathers giveth thee to possess it, all the days that ye live upon the earth.
Deu 12:2 Ye shall utterly destroy all the places, wherein the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree:
Deu 12:3 And ye shall overthrow their altars, and break their pillars, and burn their groves with fire; and ye shall hew down the graven images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

We know of the Ten Commandments given to Israel, we call these the Moral Laws, but there were in fact 613 commandments given to these Hebrew people and God simply says for as long as you are on this Promised Land you will observe these statutes and judgments.

Some of those they never did!

This was a commandment!

Today people worship everything from animals to gold and some even carve out their own gods and they worship them in as many ways as they can and much of that worship includes perverted sexual expressions.

Those who say there are no gods and who go another way simply worship themselves as little gods while making demands upon all other people.

When man is worshipped, then it leads to the worship of science, the worship of medicine, the worship of business, the worship of government, the worship of sports figures, and today the big thing is the worship of “power”.

The greatest downfall of these things is the short lifespan of humanity and as they die off something new will always creep in to make itself known.

Problems arise when we become enemies of each other and meet in this battlefield called life!

When we understand these things, then we will understand God’s Judgment.

All those places of false worship were to be destroyed because only Jehovah was to be worshiped and this has not changed today.

We can read about all these laws from chapter 12 through chapter 26 in this same Book of Deuteronomy.

To worship Jehovah begins with “obedience” and the world and much of the Church has forgotten this first rule of worship.

There is no worship without complete obedience to the Word of God!

This is not a brief time event, it is for the rest of our lives and why should we think God changes, when the same Bible says He does not ever change.

The same Bible still says that the Word of God is never going to change!

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

True worship means we are incredibly careful to be obedient to the Word of God.

To keep all His commandments.
To keep all His laws.
To keep all His regulations.
To keep all of His statutes

This way we never have to guess if we are doing right, if we are obedient to the Word of God!

Deu 26:16 This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

These Jews were to utterly destroy all the places of false worship.

We can understand this when we realize the confusion that would come from a worship service that took place in a house that once taught false worship and blasphemy.

Even if we knew that we were worshipping the true God, those on the outside could not be sure!

These places had to be destroyed no matter how ornate they were.

Any false worship is an affront to Jehovah God!

All symbols of false worship were to also be destroyed.

1) So, for the Church we must understand that we must reject all false worship.
2) We must never compromise with the false worship of the world.
3) We must have nothing to do with “idolatry” and false worship anywhere in this world.

This is what God demands and we can readily see where so many of the mainline denominations have failed in this early commandment of God and these things will never change.

So there is no such thing as Chrislam!
There are no other roads to Heaven but by the blood of the Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ!

Deu 11:16 Take heed to yourselves, that your heart be not deceived, and ye turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them;
Deu 11:17 And then the LORD’S wrath be kindled against you, and he shut up the heaven, that there be no rain, and that the land yield not her fruit; and lest ye perish quickly from off the good land which the LORD giveth you.

Psa 81:9 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

We serve a Holy God, and we must make ourselves to be holy with His help.

*Deu 14:2 For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

The basic meaning of “holiness” is to be “set apart” or “separation from the ways of the world”.

If we see God as our Father, then why in the world would we want to do things that He is opposed to?

God is absolutely distinct from all His creation and is exalted above them in infinite majesty.

Exo 15:11 Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

Isa 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.

Since we know these things and believe these things, then why don’t we act like it?

Lev 11:44 For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

It is like we are making demands of our Holy God to be allowed to live as we wish and then be accepted into His world.

This is not going to happen!

We must strive to be holy as is our God!

The Holiness of God is the moral and ethical standard by which we must live!

God sets the laws we are to follow, and it is He that is the standard in obedience.

God will not break one of His own laws and neither should we!

*Deu 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the LORD thy God.
Deu 18:14 For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.
Deu 18:15 The LORD thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;

Psychics, fortune tellers, palm-readers, diviners, are no more than self-proclaimed prophets of the New Age movement.

Almost everyone that lives want to know more about the future and use these charlatans to try to find out their future.

They want the blessings of all these false gods they have heard of all their lives.

Many of them have now heard of Jehovah and they want the blessings of Jehovah without making a commitment to Him.

Well guess what, Jehovah tells the entire world about a future so grand that no one wants to believe it.

They think it should be given to them freely and it is!

The one thing God demands is a commitment and the world does not want to commit to Him.

They want only good things to happen to them as they live their lives, but guess what life is not fair!

They want more and not less.

They want everything done their way without making a commitment.

This is not the way the Lord Jesus Christ works so, much of the world seeks out the occult world and its promises.

To Israel a Prophet of God was the actual voice of God and this was certainly true of God’s true prophets.

Moses was an incredibly old man at this time and the children of Israel were worried that Moses would soon die, and they did not know what would become of them.

We should be aware that God appointed each true Prophet, but the Priests were selected according to the line of the tribe of Levi.

The job of the Prophet was to speak only the words God gave them to speak and the test of that prophet was the fulfillment of those Words of God!

The prophet spoken of in verse fifteen would be the Lord Jesus Christ.

Just as Moses was the founder of God’s Kingdom with Israel, the Lord Jesus Christ would be the founder of the Church.

Moses was the mediator between God and the children of Israel, and our Lord and Savior is the Mediator between God and the Church.

The Lord Jesus Christ was a Jew from the tribe of Judah.

We should understand that God cannot communicate with humanity because of our sin.

He will communicate with us by and through His own Son Jesus!

*Deu 18:16 According to all that thou desiredst of the LORD thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not.
Deu 18:17 And the LORD said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken.
Deu 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.

We should clearly understand that God will never fail to speak directly to those who love Him.

This is the greatest purpose of the Bible, the direct Word of God to His Church!

We have the complete Bible and there will never be another book added or chapter or even one verse.

We have the complete Bible, and we also have our Mediator, the Lord Jesus Christ and we also know He will never change, and He cannot die so He has an unchanging Priesthood.

There will be no one else beyond the Lord Jesus Christ!

Heb 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Heb 1:4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

The Bible will not change, and the Lord Jesus has already warned those who would change the Word of God in any way!

When the Lord Jesus Christ stepped upon the scene in Israel the religious leaders of that were still looking for the fulfillment of this Scripture!

John the Baptist emphatically told them it was not he, but it was Jesus who was the Lamb of God.

Philip declared it was Jesus.

Most all the people who knew the Scriptures at that time, said Jesus was that promised prophet.

Jesus Christ declared that He was that promised Prophet.

Joh 5:45 Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.
Joh 5:46 For had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.
Joh 5:47 But if ye believe not his writings, how shall ye believe my words?

Jesus Christ claimed that He fulfilled the requirements of that promised Prophet.

Joh 12:49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
Joh 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Even Peter declared that the Lord Jesus was that Prophet.

And Stephen at his execution, boldly proclaimed that the lord Jesus Christ was that promised prophet.

Act 7:37 This is that Moses, which said unto the children of Israel, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear.

If we believe the Bible as we say we do, we will believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our Redeemer, and He will soon return to take us home!

Amen

Systematic Theology (Part five)

“SYSTEMATIC THEOLOGY” (Part five)

TEXT:

Act 4:16  Saying, What shall we do to these men? [for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done] by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and [we cannot deny it].
Act 4:17  [But that it spread no further among the people], let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
Act 4:18  And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
Act 4:19  But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
Act 4:20  For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
Act 4:21  So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
Act 4:22  [For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed].

INTRO:

In revue Systematic Theology is a system for studying about God. We know that no one knows the mind of God:

Isa 55:8  For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa 55:9  For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

You know God expects us to also have higher thoughts than the lost of this world:

Php 2:5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Our thoughts should not be of this world but of our HOME IN HEAVEN. We are saved from a Devil’s Hell, “we should act like it”.

NO STUDY OF THE THEOLOGY OF GOD CAN BE COMPLETE WITHOUT LOOKING AT SOME OF THE MIRACLES OF GOD. God is still in the “Miracle” making business. God is a SUPERNATURAL BEING, AND THE BIBLE IS A SUPERNATURAL BOOK.

I.) THE DEFINITION OF A MIRACLE:

A.) A “MIRACLE” is the setting aside of a lower law, BY THE LAW OF GOD.

Rom 13:1  Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.

In other words; The lower laws of, Nature, Gravity, Disease, the Elements, and all other things. When these things are ignored by God and He does something spectacular, then it is a “MIRACLE”

Col 1:16  For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

B.) And WHAT IS THE REASON FOR “MIRACLES”?

Joh 2:11  This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

When Our Lord Jesus began his “Miracles” here at Cana, the Bible says it was (to manifest His Glory) AND (THAT HIS DISCIPLES WOULD BELIEVE ON HIM).

Those reasons have not changed!

II.) TYPES OF MIRACLES:

   A.) OVER NATURE:

The Animals:

Mat 21:1  And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,
Mat 21:2  Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
Mat 21:3  And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
Mat 21:4  All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
Mat 21:5  Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
Mat 21:6  And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
Mat 21:7  And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

Every horse owner will tell you that an unbroken colt cannot be ridden until it is broken.

The elements of weather:

Mar 4:35  And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
Mar 4:36  And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
Mar 4:37  And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
Mar 4:38  And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?
Mar 4:39  And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mar 4:40  And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?
Mar 4:41  And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?

The plants on this earth:

Mat 21:18  Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
Mat 21:19  And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
Mat 21:20  And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!

   B.) OVER THE DEMON WORLD:

Luk 8:26  And they arrived at the country of the Gadarenes, which is over against Galilee.
Luk 8:27  And when he went forth to land, there met him out of the city a certain man, which had devils long time, and ware no clothes, neither abode in any house, but in the tombs.
Luk 8:28  When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.
Luk 8:29  (For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)
Luk 8:30  And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
Luk 8:31  And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
Luk 8:32  And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
Luk 8:33  Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

The Devil and his Demons will always flee at the sight of Jesus!

Mat 9:31  But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
Mat 9:32  As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
Mat 9:33  And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.

Luk 4:32  And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power.
Luk 4:33  And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unclean devil, and cried out with a loud voice,
Luk 4:34  Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
Luk 4:35  And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
Luk 4:36  And they were all amazed, and spake among themselves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
Luk 4:37  And the fame of him went out into every place of the country round about.

   C.) OVER DISEASE:

Mar 5:24  And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.
Mar 5:25  And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,
Mar 5:26  And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,
Mar 5:27  When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.
Mar 5:28  For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.
Mar 5:29  And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.
Mar 5:30  And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?
Mar 5:31  And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
Mar 5:32  And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.
Mar 5:33  But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.
Mar 5:34  And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

AGAIN:

Joh 5:2  Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
Joh 5:3  In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.
Joh 5:4  For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
Joh 5:5  And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.
Joh 5:6  When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
Joh 5:7  The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
Joh 5:8  Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Joh 5:9  And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.
Joh 5:10  The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
Joh 5:11  He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
Joh 5:12  Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
Joh 5:13  And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.
Joh 5:14  Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
Joh 5:15  The man departed, and told the Jews that it was Jesus, which had made him whole.

AGAIN:

Luk 14:1  And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath day, that they watched him.
Luk 14:2  And, behold, there was a certain man before him which had the dropsy.
Luk 14:3  And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day?
Luk 14:4  And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go;

   D.) OVER DEATH:

Joh 11:1  Now a certain man was sick, named Lazarus, of Bethany, the town of Mary and her sister Martha.
Joh 11:2  (It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
Joh 11:3  Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick.
Joh 11:4  When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.
Joh 11:5  Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
Joh 11:6  When he had heard therefore that he was sick, he abode two days still in the same place where he was.
Joh 11:7  Then after that saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.
Joh 11:8  His disciples say unto him, Master, the Jews of late sought to stone thee; and goest thou thither again?
Joh 11:9  Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man walk in the day, he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
Joh 11:10  But if a man walk in the night, he stumbleth, because there is no light in him.
Joh 11:11  These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep.
Joh 11:12  Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well.
Joh 11:13  Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep.
Joh 11:14  Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.
Joh 11:15  And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him.
Joh 11:16  Then said Thomas, which is called Didymus, unto his fellowdisciples, Let us also go, that we may die with him.
Joh 11:17  Then when Jesus came, he found that he had lain in the grave four days already.
Joh 11:18  Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:
Joh 11:19  And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
Joh 11:20  Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.
Joh 11:21  Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Joh 11:22  But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.
Joh 11:23  Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Joh 11:24  Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Joh 11:25  Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Joh 11:26  And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?
Joh 11:27  She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world.
Joh 11:28  And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.
Joh 11:29  As soon as she heard that, she arose quickly, and came unto him.
Joh 11:30  Now Jesus was not yet come into the town, but was in that place where Martha met him.
Joh 11:31  The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.
Joh 11:32  Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.
Joh 11:33  When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,
Joh 11:34  And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.
Joh 11:35  Jesus wept.
Joh 11:36  Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!
Joh 11:37  And some of them said, Could not this man, which opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?
Joh 11:38  Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
Joh 11:39  Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days.
Joh 11:40  Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?
Joh 11:41  Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.
Joh 11:42  And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.
Joh 11:43  And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.
Joh 11:44  And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

AGAIN:

Mar 5:35  While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue’s house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further?
Mar 5:36  As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.
Mar 5:37  And he suffered no man to follow him, save Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
Mar 5:38  And he cometh to the house of the ruler of the synagogue, and seeth the tumult, and them that wept and wailed greatly.
Mar 5:39  And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth.
Mar 5:40  And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying.
Mar 5:41  And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise.
Mar 5:42  And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.
Mar 5:43  And he charged them straitly that no man should know it; and commanded that something should be given her to eat.

AGAIN:

Luk 7:11  And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.
Luk 7:12  Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.
Luk 7:13  And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.
Luk 7:14  And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.
Luk 7:15  And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.
Luk 7:16  And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.
Luk 7:17  And this rumour of him went forth throughout all Judaea, and throughout all the region round about.
Luk 7:18  And the disciples of John shewed him of all these things.
Luk 7:19  And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?

   E.) OVER MISC:

Jesus fed the over five thousand:

Luk 9:10  And the apostles, when they were returned, told him all that they had done. And he took them, and went aside privately into a desert place belonging to the city called Bethsaida.
Luk 9:11  And the people, when they knew it, followed him: and he received them, and spake unto them of the kingdom of God, and healed them that had need of healing.
Luk 9:12  And when the day began to wear away, then came the twelve, and said unto him, Send the multitude away, that they may go into the towns and country round about, and lodge, and get victuals: for we are here in a desert place.
Luk 9:13  But he said unto them, Give ye them to eat. And they said, We have no more but five loaves and two fishes; except we should go and buy meat for all this people.
Luk 9:14  For they were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples, Make them sit down by fifties in a company.
Luk 9:15  And they did so, and made them all sit down.
Luk 9:16  Then he took the five loaves and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed them, and brake, and gave to the disciples to set before the multitude.
Luk 9:17  And they did eat, and were all filled: and there was taken up of fragments that remained to them twelve baskets.
Luk 9:18  And it came to pass, as he was alone praying, his disciples were with him: and he asked them, saying, Whom say the people that I am?
Luk 9:19  They answering said, John the Baptist; but some say, Elias; and others say, that one of the old prophets is risen again.
Luk 9:20  He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

The fish and the money:

Mat 17:24  And when they were come to Capernaum, they that received tribute money came to Peter, and said, Doth not your master pay tribute?
Mat 17:25  He saith, Yes. And when he was come into the house, Jesus prevented him, saying, What thinkest thou, Simon? of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute? of their own children, or of strangers?
Mat 17:26  Peter saith unto him, Of strangers. Jesus saith unto him, Then are the children free.
Mat 17:27  Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

Cast your net on the other side:

Joh 21:4  But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood on the shore: but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.
Joh 21:5  Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.
Joh 21:6  And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.
Joh 21:7  Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher’s coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
Joh 21:8  And the other disciples came in a little ship; (for they were not far from land, but as it were two hundred cubits,) dragging the net with fishes.
Joh 21:9  As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread.
Joh 21:10  Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught.

F.) THE GREATEAST MIRACLE WAS HIS OWN RESURRECTION FROM THE GRAVE:

Joh 20:1  The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
Joh 20:2  Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him.
Joh 20:3  Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre.
Joh 20:4  So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre.
Joh 20:5  And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in.
Joh 20:6  Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie,
Joh 20:7  And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself.
Joh 20:8  Then went in also that other disciple, which came first to the sepulchre, and he saw, and believed.
Joh 20:9  For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
Joh 20:10  Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.
Joh 20:11  But Mary stood without at the sepulchre weeping: and as she wept, she stooped down, and looked into the sepulchre,
Joh 20:12  And seeth two angels in white sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.
Joh 20:13  And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith unto them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.
Joh 20:14  And when she had thus said, she turned herself back, and saw Jesus standing, and knew not that it was Jesus.
Joh 20:15  Jesus saith unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? whom seekest thou? She, supposing him to be the gardener, saith unto him, Sir, if thou have borne him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away.
Joh 20:16  Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

III.) THE CREDIBILITY OF HIS MIRACLES:

A.) THEY HAPPENED BEFORE MANY WITNESSES:

PAUL WROTE OF THE RESURRECTION:

1Co 15:1  Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1Co 15:2  By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
1Co 15:3  For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4  And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1Co 15:5  And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
1Co 15:6  After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
1Co 15:7  After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.
1Co 15:8  And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.

JOHN WROTE:

Joh 2:23  Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

AGAIN:

Joh 7:31  And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?

B.) THESE MIRACLES HAPPENED AT AN INSTANT, (not over a period of time).

Mat 8:3  And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Mat 20:34  So Jesus had compassion on them, and touched their eyes: and immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed him.

Mar 1:31  And he came and took her by the hand, and lifted her up; and immediately the fever left her, and she ministered unto them.

Mar 2:12  And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.

Mar 10:52  And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.

Luk 1:64  And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God.

even from a distance:

Mat 8:7  And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him.
Mat 8:8  The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
Mat 8:9  For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
Mat 8:10  When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
Mat 8:11  And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 8:12  But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
Mat 8:13  And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.

C.) TO DENY THE MIRACLES OF GOD OR TO TRY TO EXPLAIN THEM AWAY, “IS TO DENY GOD”:

Mat 10:32  Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.
Mat 10:33  But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

Tit 1:16  They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

2Ti 2:11  It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
2Ti 2:12  If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
2Ti 2:13  If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.
2Ti 2:14  Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
2Ti 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

IV.) THE REASON FOR THE MIRACLES:

TO IDENTIFY JESUS AS GOD. TO SET HIM APART FROM ALL PROPHETS THAT CAME BEFORE HIM AND ALL THE FALSE PROPHETS.

Joh 20:31  But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

Rom 1:3  Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
Rom 1:4  And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
Rom 1:5  By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name:
Rom 1:6  Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:

Heb 1:1  God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Heb 1:2  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Heb 1:3  Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
Heb 1:4  Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
Heb 1:5  For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

1Jn 4:15  Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

1Jn 5:20  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

CONCLUSION:

THEY SIMPLY REFUSED TO BELIEVE.

Joh 12:37  But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
Joh 12:38  That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
Joh 12:39  Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
Joh 12:40  He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
Joh 12:41  These things said Esaias, when he saw his glory, and spake of him.
Joh 12:42  Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; [but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
Joh 12:43  For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God].

THIS MAN CARRIED WHAT WAS ONCE CARRYING HIM.

Joh 5:9  And immediately the man was made whole, and [took up his bed, and walked]: and on the same day was the sabbath.

MEN TOOK NOTICE OF THESE MIRACLES:

Mat 8:27  But the men marvelled, saying, [What manner of man is this], that even the winds and the sea obey him!

HE LOOSED THEM FROM THEIR INFIRMITIES.

Luk 8:43  And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
Luk 8:44  Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.

Luk 13:11  And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself.
Luk 13:12  And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.
Luk 13:13  And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
Luk 13:14  And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day.
Luk 13:15  The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

AND JESUS SAYS THAT THESE INFIRMITIES ARE BROUGHT ABOUT BY SATAN!

Luk 13:16  And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, [whom Satan hath bound, lo, these eighteen years], be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day?

IS MONEY AN ISSUE?  NO!

Mat 17:27  Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and [when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.]

ANOTHER GREATEST MIRACLE:

1Co 15:51  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

THE RESURRECTION OF THE SAINTS:

1Th 4:13  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1Th 4:14  For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1Th 4:15  For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16  For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18  Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Are you going to be a part of this Miracle?

Amen
