Human Relations

Wisdom’s Instructions on Human Relations

Book of Proverbs Chapter 27

What are our duties as the children of God?

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

After the Holy Spirit guided Solomon through the entire Book of Ecclesiastes, Solomon sees that there is truly one duty that every human is to have.

“We are to have a reverent fear of the Lord and keep His commandments”.

Everything in this world is meaningless unless we see it through the eyes of Jehovah.

There is safety and peace in the keeping of the commandments of our self-existing God.

The Word of God is just as valuable today as it was in the days of Solomon and all the writers of Scripture, led by the Holy Spirit, and even more so as we approach the end of the Church Age.

Our eternal existence depends upon our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the giver and the taker of life!

Our one job is to please our Heavenly Father through His Son!

This begins when we recognize sin and avoid it.

*Pro 27:1 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.
Pro 27:2 Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
Pro 27:3 A stone is heavy, and the sand weighty; but a fool’s wrath is heavier than them both.
Pro 27:4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is outrageous; but who is able to stand before envy?

We should understand that no matter how our day goes, it is a day that God by His Almighty Power causes or allows to happen according to His plan for us.

If we rely on what we think tomorrow will bring, according to the day we live now, we can be totally disappointed.

All our plans are secondary to the plan of God!

When we ignore what God has said, it is a sin as much as any other sin!

We are blind and arrogant to think that we hold power over our own lives.

This does not mean we are not to plan and even plan for the future, but we had better remain flexible with our plans.

We cannot take tomorrow for granted, and only God can direct our future; and it is sin not to know this.

God’s plans will always prevail.

Let the Lord Jesus teach us on this: Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Mat 6:34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

There is another proverb that should be more important to us: 2Co 6:2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

God is saying we do not know what tomorrow will bring, so do not put off today what needs to be done today.

If the Lord Jesus returns this afternoon and you are waiting till next week to talk to the preacher about salvation, it will be too late for you to get to Heaven.

It is the same thing if the Lord has laid it upon you to witness to a certain person and you put it off for a few days, and all of a sudden, the trumpet sounds and we’re out of here.

We may think we are the best that the Lord has to offer to the world, but we are never to brag about ourselves.

If we are just doing what the Lord has commanded us to do, there is no reward for that, it’s obedience.

If we are not obedient, we are living in sin!

If we boast about how great we are, we will forget how great the Lord is.

Humility, not boasting, will cause others to think more of us, especially the Lord.

2Co 10:17 But he that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.
2Co 10:18 For not he that commendeth himself is approved, but whom the Lord commendeth.

As we go through life as a Christian, we will find there are many daily irritations that can make our life unbearable, but if we come face to face with a fool, the Spiritual effort it takes to deal with him is far greater than anything else we face.

Pro 16:22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.

Envy, which includes jealousy, will consume and destroy even the strongest Christian, and we must avoid them.

Remember, Cain slew Abel because of jealousy and became the first murderer in the Bible and caused strife in the first family that existed.

Joseph, the son of Jacob, was sold into slavery because of jealousy.

King Saul tried to kill David because of jealousy.

Envy is the most dangerous of all sinful emotions.

Pro 6:34 For jealousy is the rage of a man: therefore, he will not spare in the day of vengeance.

Many times, we ignore these sins in our lives, and we think we are living according to the Word of God when we are living in unconfessed sin, and our prayer life will suffer because of it.

The Lord Jesus Christ has given us the power to overcome all sin in our lives, but we must recognize them as sin.

The closer we stay to living according to the Word of God, we will understand that all sin is an abomination to our Heavenly Father.

Next, we must always be sensitive to the Holy Spirit who lives within us.

When we feel someone tugging at our heart, there is no need to look around on the outside because it will be the Spirit on the inside ringing our bell.

We must swallow our pride, admit our sin, and we will see an improvement in our prayer life and in our lives.

*Pro 27:5 Open rebuke is better than secret love.
Pro 27:6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Pro 27:7 The full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet.
Pro 27:8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.
Pro 27:9 Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.
Pro 27:10 Thine own friend, and thy father’s friend, forsake not; neither go into thy brother’s house in the day of thy calamity: for better is a neighbour that is near than a brother far off.

We meet a lot of people throughout our lifetime, but only a few can we say are our friends.

How can we say we are good friends if we do not love them enough to point out bad behavior?

We are never to ignore their bad behavior or anything which could be called evil.

It’s the same with our children. How can we say that we love them if we do not tell them about their bad behavior and try to correct them at any age?

Pro 3:12 For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Real friends will confront each other with the truth!

A true friend will get over that rebuke and remain your friend.

Many of us tend to overindulge, especially when we are eating our favorite meal.

Even that favorite meal will lose its taste when we reach the point where we cannot take another bite.

We know our health should be maintained before we reach this point.

We sometimes forget that a hungry person will eat anything they are offered, even if they do not like the taste of it.

Pro 22:9 He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.

True friends will help the needy.

A bird that strays from the nest shows no regard for the family it leaves behind, and they will perish without its help.

For a father or a mother to desert loved ones is not different.

We simply are not to walk away from those we love!

As far as the Jews, this applied to those who left their nation to live in some other nation.

God’s plan encompasses the community of people beyond the family.

We must understand that God has placed us wherever we live, and unless God calls for us to go somewhere else, then His intention is for us to remain where He has placed us.

This is our mission field.

What did God tell Cain after he murdered Abel? Gen 4:12 When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.

Look at what happened to Naomi.

Rth 1:1 Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons.
Rth 1:2 And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab and continued there.
Rth 1:3 And Elimelech Naomi’s husband died; and she was left, and her two sons.
Rth 1:4 And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years.
Rth 1:5 And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband.

God made something good come out of this tragedy in the family of Naomi, for this is what God does, but maybe they should have stayed in Bethlehem.

Our purpose cannot be fulfilled when we run away from it!

Maybe we should not run away from the friends that God has allowed us to establish unless it is God who leads us to do so.

Good friends are just too hard to find!

True friends can help heal each other in times of sorrow and times of need.

Wounds of the heart are especially painful, and a good friend can help heal that pain.

Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
Gal 5:14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Gal 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another.

In today’s world, we need more friends and not fewer friends, and our brothers and sisters in Christ are to always be our friends and we theirs.

A friend of your father who is now your friend shows a connection to the family and should be regarded as a true friend.

We should not only love our friends, but we should also love our friends’ children.

Most of the time, we do not need the help of our friends, but on that day, we do, and it is good to know that help will come.

True friends are priceless!

A good friend who is available is far better than a family that lives miles away from you.

A wise child of God will cherish and value their friends.

Our greatest friend is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mat 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

*Pro 27:11 My son, be wise, and make my heart glad, that I may answer him that reproacheth me.
Pro 27:12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.
Pro 27:13 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger, and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
Pro 27:14 He that blesseth his friend with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, it shall be counted a curse to him.

If we raise our children according to the Word of God, we will certainly be criticized by the world.

The world will say we are doing it wrong.

They will be taught to follow certain godly rules.

They will be denied certain freedoms that the children of the world will partake in.

They will be removed from certain teachings in the schools that go against the Word of God.

The world will say, As Christians, we are being too oppressive to our children.

That wise child will bring great joy to his parents if they have listened and learned the reasons why these things are important.

How we and our children go through life reflects our upbringing.

When we are trained to recognize the pitfalls of life, then we can avoid them.

When we see the danger that is ahead, we can protect ourselves from it.

The wise child of God will not walk into danger unprepared.

We have the full armor of God.

Those who are simple seldom see the danger that is ahead of them and are not prepared to face it when it comes.

When we do business with people we do not know, we need to demand payment or keep some sort of collateral.

If we are asked to stand good for the debt of someone else, we should refuse.

If we allow our best winter coat to be collateral, we may spend many cold days because of it.

Pro 11:15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.

What is common courtesy? Most of us would say it is being polite, connected to kindness.

It is also an act of respect.

If we have had some great thing happen to us and we just cannot hold it in and wake our friends up in the middle of the night to tell them, then we have not been good friends to them. We have not respected them.

We may even lose a friend with such behavior.

Our good news has become bad news for them.

If we call our friends in the middle of the night to tell them how much we appreciate them, they may not appreciate your call.

Friends are just too important for us to do these things to them.

If we call our Pastor for some trivial matter after he has preached three services and visited the sick and needs his rest, we have done him no favor.

*Pro 27:15 A continual dropping in a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike.
Pro 27:16 Whosoever hideth her hideth the wind, and the ointment of his right hand, which bewrayeth itself.
Pro 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
Pro 27:18 Whoso keepeth the fig tree shall eat the fruit thereof: so he that waiteth on his master shall be honoured.

The Holy Spirit has mentioned this subject at least five times, so it has to be important.

If it has been raining for a long time and the place you are seeking shelter has a leaky roof, that can drive us back out into the storm.

If we are at home trying to have some peace, but an angry, quarrelsome wife will not let that happen can also drive a man out of that house.

Those who are married to such a person are at their mercy.

We should not be the cause of her anger, or we will certainly suffer for it.

It will be raining inside and outside, and we will have nowhere to avoid it.

Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Eph 5:33 Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

A husband and wife must be good friends at all times and let not anger divide them.

Iron is sharpened by another piece of abrasive iron.

The Bible says we are not created to be alone but with others.

We are social beings, and we need to be around others to feel human.

Iron sharpening iron is about two pieces of equivalent materials.

When two people talk and work out the details of their marriage or their friendship, they have sharpened each other, and their bond remains strong.

Our character is shaped by contact with others, which is another reason God wants us to gather together as like-minded people to worship our Heavenly Father.

We do not have to agree with each other all the time, but by talking and gaining understanding, it will sharpen our convictions and remove those sharp edges that cause friction.

It is the same for husbands and wives, good friends, and brothers and sisters in Christ.

It is also the same in our relationships at work.

It is not so much about sharpening as it is about caring for one another.

Tending to a fig tree requires some work, but if you do this properly, you will be able to eat its fruit.

As Christians, we have only one Master, the Lord Jesus Christ.

If we faithfully serve the Lord and do not worry about whether our efforts will be recognized and rewarded will in the end receive from our Master, the most important things.

Joh 12:25 He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
Joh 12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

Mat 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

It is these things that build our character.

*Pro 27:19 As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.

A good mirror will show the reflection of our face, but they did not exist at this time, so a pool of clear water would give the best reflection.

Just as that good mirror gives the best reflection of our outside character, our hearts will give the best reflection of our inside character.

Mat 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

It is the Word of God that is to be used as our mirror.

It is the Word of God that will show us what is in our hearts.

What is in our heart is what we are!

When we acknowledge what is in our hearts, it will drive us to our knees, and we will beg God for mercy!

The world we live in today is so close to being like the world that existed before the flood that the Lord could return at any moment to remove His Church, which He promised would not see His wrath and return with fire to destroy this wicked world.

Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

*Pro 27:20 Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
Pro 27:21 As the fining pot for silver, and the furnace for gold; so is a man to his praise.
Pro 27:22 Though thou shouldest bray a fool in a mortar among wheat with a pestle, yet will not his foolishness depart from him.

We know that the grave eats up all the bodies that are put into it and is always ready to eat up more.

Destruction is speaking of the second death.

Rev_20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev_21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

Hell is always hungry for more of the dead!

Hab 2:5 Yea also, because he transgresseth by wine, he is a proud man, neither keepeth at home, who enlargeth his desire as hell, and is as death, and cannot be satisfied, but gathereth unto him all nations, and heapeth unto him all people:

Hell is never full or satisfied. Enough is never enough.

The Bible then says our sinful desires can be compared to Hell because our sinful desires are never satisfied.

1Jn 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1Jn 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

The only thing that will satisfy us is the “Fear of the Lord” and a reverent relationship with Him.

The fining pot and the furnace are used to test precious metals for purity.

In the same way, our praise of the Lord reveals our character.

If our praise is not real, God knows it!

When we humble ourselves before God, we show we are sinners and give God the credit for His Mercy and His Grace, which allows for our salvation.

Eph 2:4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

We should understand that not everyone is going to accept the truth of God, and over and over, God says they are foolish.

Even severe punishment is not enough to cause fools to change their minds.

Pro 26:3 A whip for the horse, a bridle for the ass, and a rod for the fool’s back.
Pro 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him.

No matter how long we pound fools, we will never be able to separate them from their foolishness!

We are cautioned not to waste our time and energy trying to reform them.

Jer 13:23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
Jer 13:24 Therefore will I scatter them as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.

We must recognize who we can and cannot help.

*Pro 27:23 Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
Pro 27:24 For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?
Pro 27:25 The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
Pro 27:26 The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.
Pro 27:27 And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.

Everything we own belongs to God, and we need to be diligent in managing and protecting these things.

The wealth of the people of the Old Testament consisted of livestock.

God had given them their land, and it could not be sold.

Flocks would designate sheep, but herds could be goats or cattle, or any group of animals.

Why should we be so diligent? Because God has provided these things to feed and clothe our families.

When we do not work diligently with the things God has given to us or loaned to us, then our families will suffer.

A farmer must keep a close eye on his animals.

Today, we are to keep a close eye on our assets, our property, businesses, if you have a business, our accounts, and any other resource.

We are to do this because at any moment these things could disappear, or we could see a better place to place our finances.

Riches do not last forever!

We know that if we have animals, they require personal attention.

It is the same for everything we have obtained.

We must set our hearts on providing for our families.

Once money is spent then it is gone.

The value of cars and other possessions deteriorates with time or can be stolen.

There are more risks every day because our world is getting more evil, and crime is increasing.

Nothing we own is entirely secure, even our nation, and who knows about our government from day to day.

We must also apply these things to our Churches.

The Church is compared to flocks by the Holy Spirit.

Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Act 20:29 For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Act 20:30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

We know that these things are happening in the Church today.

What is the Pastor to do?

1Pe 5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
1Pe 5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
1Pe 5:3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.
1Pe 5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

It is not the time for any Pastor or Church leader to stray from the Gospel, but many are.

The message of the Lord Jesus Christ does not ever change.

There is no such thing as a modern Gospel.

The growth of the Church has always been the job of the Holy Spirit!

Our job is to preach and teach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ!

In the beginning of time, God provided everything needed to sustain humans throughout all the Ages.

God then gave humans the knowledge to take care of the things He created.

We are to be good stewards of these things.

Luk_12:42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?

This includes taking care of the planet God has allowed us to live upon.

We will one day give an account to God for all He has placed in our heads, our hearts, and our hands.

Psa 8:4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
Psa 8:5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
Psa 8:6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
Psa 8:7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
Psa 8:8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

We will one day give an account for this planet God has created for us to live on till He takes His children home, those who love the Lord Jesus Christ!

Amen

The Gospel Truth

The Gospel and the Resurrection

Book of 1 Corinthians Chapter 15

The word “Gospel” means “Good News”. There is only one Gospel!

The Gospel is described in many ways:

Mar 1:14 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,
Mar 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

The Gospel of the Kingdom of God.

Act 20:24 But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.

The Gospel of the Grace of God.

Mar 1:1 The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God;

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ.

2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

The glorious Gospel.

Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

The Everlasting Gospel.

This church at Corinth, like many churches today, is confused about the resurrection of believers.

This resurrection concerns our bodies, no matter if they are in the grave, have been burnt to ashes, thrown into the ocean, or eaten by some wild animal.

Some were denying the resurrection of the body.
Some were following false teaching, claiming that it occurred at the time of our death.
Some just said God couldn’t resurrect our old bodies when God made us from the dust of the ground to begin with.

There is nothing too hard for God!

Paul said this was a simple thing for God when He showed the power of resurrection by raising His own Son from the dead.

We do not need any other proof!

*1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

No matter where the Apostle Paul preached, he included the resurrection as part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We cannot take our stand on the Gospel of Jesus Christ without standing on the fact of His resurrection and our resurrection.

Heb 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Paul had said earlier that he was not able to preach the meat of the Gospel to these Corinthians, but he did preach the resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is a major doctrine and principle of our salvation and our resurrection.

We, as the Church, need to pay particular attention to this chapter.

Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

We should understand that we will see our Heavenly Father face-to-face, and we will be in a glorified body, and that body will be a version of the body we had when we were upon this earth.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Paul is declaring these things again to these Corinthians as if they had never heard them because they had not remained with them.

We must live by faith in the Word of God.

We already know that without faith, we cannot even please God.

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We are being saved by the same Gospel that was presented to these Corinthians!

We must hold fast to the Gospel.

When we take a stand as a Christian, we are standing upon the truth of the Gospel!

Jas 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

*1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

The first act of the Gospel was that Jesus Christ died for our sins, fulfilling the prophecies of the Old Testament.

Isa 53:5-8, Daniel 9:26, Psalms 22, Zec 12:10, Gen 22.

All these Scriptures teach us the death and resurrection of our Savior, God’s Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ.

The death of the Lord Jesus Christ is the first thing that should be preached because with His death, He paid for our sins.

Paul is saying that these are the first words that he received from the Lord Jesus Christ.

1Co 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:

Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The death of Jesus Christ was the substitute that Our Heavenly Father allowed for payment of our sins.

Jesus died as our sacrifice.
Jesus died as our ransom.
Jesus died as our propitiation.
Jesus died according to the Scriptures.

Luk 24:25 Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
Luk 24:26 Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?

Joh 1:45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

He was wounded for our transgressions.
He was despised and rejected by men.

*1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The second fact of the Gospel is that the Lord Jesus died and was buried, and He rose again on the third day, just as the Old Testament had testified.

We should understand that there were many witnesses to these events; they were not done in the dark or hidden from sight.

There are still those today who say there was no resurrection because there was no actual death.

We need to just pay attention to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the truth, and it is our faith that saves us and our faith that pleases our Heavenly Father.

Jesus Christ did die a human death. No one buries a man who is alive except a murderer.

If Jesus had not been buried, then there could be no resurrection.

The empty tomb is still evidence that the Lord Jesus arose from the dead!

It is the resurrection of Christ Jesus that proves that our bodies will also one day rise from the grave, and our tombs will be empty no matter how our bodies were buried, scattered, or remain in some urn, or thrown in the ocean.

The resurrection proves that the Lord Jesus Christ is exactly who He says He is, the Living God!

There is no other power anywhere upon this earth that can raise people from their death!

Rom 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:

The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves that He is our Savior.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves that He is the Spirit of Life.
The resurrection of Jesus Christ proves that He is no liar.

Mat 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

Psa 16:10 For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

The resurrection proves that Christianity is real!
The resurrection proves that our Heavenly Father accepted the work that His Son Jesus did for our reconciliation, our salvation.

When the Lord Jesus prayed at Gethsemane, it was a prayer that His death would bring life through His resurrection.

His Heavenly Father heard His prayer!

Heb 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;
Heb 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Heb 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

His resurrection was essential in the plan of God for us to receive the Holy Spirit.

Joh 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
Joh 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
Joh 16:9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;

There was an empty tomb.
There was the shape of the linen wrappings. Those wrappings still retained the shape of the body. The Lord Jesus had passed right through those wrappings.

Remember Lazarus: Joh 11:44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go.

The graveclothes of Jesus had remained in that empty tomb with the napkin folded and laid aside, which meant He would return.

Then some witnessed seeing Him after He arose.

*1Co 15:5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
1Co 15:6 After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
1Co 15:7 After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

Peter, who had denied the Lord, now became one of the greatest witnesses for the Lord.

The Lord appeared to the remaining Apostles. Judas at that time was already dead having committed suicide. There were twelve Apostles after his death.

Then there were five hundred witnesses at one time who could testify to seeing the resurrected Christ.

Then the Lord appeared to James, His stepbrother, who would be the Pastor of the Church at Jerusalem.

It is then that the family of the Lord Jesus Christ found out that their stepbrother was telling the truth all along.

He later met Paul on the Damascus Road. Paul became the twelfth apostle hand-chosen by the Lord Jesus Christ.

And Paul preached:

*1Co 15:12 Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?

Still today, some unbelievers deny the resurrection of the human body of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We know that the Lord was one hundred percent God, but He was also one hundred percent human. That human body did die, but God cannot die. He has always existed!

Psa 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.

There may be many things I do not understand and cannot explain, but the resurrection of my Savior has enough witnesses to make me a believer, and I have enough faith to accept all the Word of God as the truth.

BUT:

*1Co 15:13 But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
1Co 15:14 And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
1Co 15:15 Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.

If Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead, then there is nothing to Christianity.

Most of this world believes in some supernatural being, and that being would not be much if it could not bring a human body back to life.

The message of the Gospel is the “good news” of our resurrected Savior, who is the God of the Bible and the God of all truth.

Since the God of the Bible raised the Lord Jesus Christ back to life, He will have no problem raising all the bodies in the future that He wants to raise.

Jesus said to his disciples after He had risen Luk 24:38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?
Luk 24:39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.
Luk 24:40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

I will live forever in the presence of the Lord!
I will have a personal face-to-face relationship with the Lord!
I will be made perfect and serve the Lord face-to-face in a New Heaven and a New Earth!
I do know that I know all these things are true!

The Lord Jesus died to free me from death and all other believers, and His Father raised Him, so He will raise all those who have been freed from death!

1Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy, hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1Pe 1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
1Pe 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

*1Co 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
1Co 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
1Co 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
1Co 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

Christians whose bodies are in the sleep of death is a principle that we must reject as impossible!

The goodness, the faith, the love, the tenderness of that Saint of God cannot be dissolved into nothing.

God simply will not allow it!

Since Jesus Christ rose from His death, then that old body of that saint of God that is asleep in Jesus will also rise from that grave!

That old body will not only rise from the dead, but it will be glorified just as the body of Christ is glorified.

The Lord Jesus did not have to take His earthly body back to Heaven with Him, but He did.

He could just as easily have gone back in His Spirit, but He chose to take that earthly body with Him.

If the Lord Jesus Christ did not arise from that grave, then neither will we. It is just that simple.

Why do we question God so much when He expects us to have faith?

The resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ goes hand in hand with our own resurrection!

If all we have is hope in this life, then certainly we will be miserable as we grow older in years.

If we have served the Lord as He commanded and suffered for it, then we have endured something false.

But now Jesus Christ is risen!

1Co 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
1Co 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
1Co 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

The fact is, we will live in the New Heaven with our Redeemer in our glorified bodies throughout eternity.

Since we are in our old body that is now glorified, we will be known by sight, just as we will recognize those who have gone before us by sight.

Where is our faith?

We should be very clear if it is possible to live in the presence of God, and it is, then the human body must first undergo a radical change. Th

1Pe 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1Pe 5:11 To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

*1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

If we are not settled on this issue of our bodies, then listen as Paul tells us how these things will take place.

The human body is flesh and blood. It is a physical body and not a spiritual body that will be needed in the New Heaven.

This body is made of earthly materials and substances, not spiritual materials and substances.

This body must be completely remade!

The bodies we have today are made to live in this physical world and dimension.

This physical body is made for the kingdoms of this world and not to inherit the Kingdom of God.

We cannot inherit eternity as we are; a change is necessary!

This means those who have gone on to meet the Lord and their old flesh was left behind and, includes any who are alive when the Trumpet sounds, and we will all meet the Lord Jesus Christ in the clouds.

1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

When we meet the Lord Jesus in the clouds, it will not be for salvation, but the Lord will take this time to issue rewards for the work that was done on earth.

1Co 3:14 If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
1Co 3:15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

The workman is saved the work itself is burned with fire.

Both the living and the dead will receive newly created bodies.

These things will happen quicker than can be seen clearly and will be invisible to those who will remain on earth during the tribulation period.

We should not worry, as the Lord Jesus said, the Lord’s children will hear that trumpet!

These things are absolutely certain!

The trumpet will sound.
The Lord’s saints will hear it.
The dead shall be raised incorruptible.
We shall be changed.
These things will take place in the twinkling of an eye.

Joh 5:25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Joh 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
Joh 5:29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

The resurrection of the damned will take place over a thousand years later than the Rapture of the Church.

*1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

The nature of our old bodies is corruptible, but the nature of our new bodies will be uncorruptible!

You do not have to tell a senior citizen about how his body is deteriorating, and his days are getting shorter, and a day of death awaits us all unless the Lord Jesus returns soon.

We are all waiting for our heavenly body that will live throughout eternity.

We know that if we are going to live with God, then these old bodies must change!

*1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Co 15:55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
1Co 15:56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

This change of our bodies will swallow up death, as it will not exist in our new bodies.

The grave will no longer be in our future.

This is the victory that was promised by Jehovah long ago.

Isa 25:8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.

It is sin that gave death its power, and the New Heaven is a place where there is no sin and there will never be any sin.

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Sin will now be erased from the picture.

It is laws and standards that show us our shortcomings.
Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Joh 11:26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Yes, Lord, I believe you.

When we have been perfected by the Holy Spirit and the Lord Jesus Christ, there will be no law hanging over our heads.

With no law, there will be no condemnation!

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

*1Co 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

It was the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ that proved He had the power over death.

It is through Him and Him alone that we can be resurrected from our death!

His perfect righteousness overcomes sin and sin’s penalty; it condemns sin!

Rom 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Those who are afraid of the Holy Ghost will find that He is our greatest gift after salvation.

Heb 2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Heb 2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

These things should encourage us all as we live for Jesus Christ.

These promises are to all those who believe the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ! These are promises!

We must stand on the truth of our Lord, unmovable!

Unyielding.
Unshaken.
Undisturbed by what goes on in this world around us.

We must work harder for those we love and those we meet.

Our labor will not be in vain!

1Pe 1:13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

1Pe 1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Amen

Spiritual Gifts

Unity Gained from Proper Use of Spiritual Gifts

Book of 1 Corinthians Chapter 12

What are Spiritual gifts?

A Spiritual gift is the God-given ability to serve Him in the command that He has given to us.

Eph 4:11 And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
Eph 4:14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
Eph 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Spiritual gifts are given to the saints of God for the purpose that the whole Church might be built up and increased and grow to maturity.

It is the Holy Spirit who decides what gifts are best for us and best for the Church.

Jas 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

The Holy Spirit He is God with equal standing in the Trinity of God.

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Not three Gods but one God in three persons. The Triune God!

We may be born with natural talents, some of which are passed down from our parents, but Spiritual gifts have their origin with the Holy Spirit.

Some of these gifts are even called “grace” gifts, a gift of God’s “grace”.

Rom 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us.

Our lesson begins with verse 12, but let’s see verses 4 and 11 before we begin.

*1Co 12:4 Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
1Co 12:11 But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
1Co 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
1Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

The Apostle Paul is addressing these issues because of the controversies raging in this church in Corinth over so many things, and now, Spiritual gifts.

Paul said that there should be no pride, no controversy, and no division over Spiritual gifts because these gifts are decided by the Holy Spirit.

God had given many Spiritual gifts to the saints in Corinth so they could minister to the pagan citizens of Corinth, but this church could not minister the Gospel because of the many divisions inside the church.

The Lord Jesus Christ identifies His saints with Himself.

**The life we now live belongs to our Savior: Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

**We have put on the New Man: 2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.

Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

**The Church is now the Body of Jesus Christ: Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

When we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ, we were baptized in water as a symbol of our relationship with Christ.

We know from Scripture that we are now home to the Holy Spirit, so we are now baptized by the work of the Holy Spirit within us.

**The Holy will convict, chastise, and strengthen us until we are a useful member of the Body of Christ. Joh 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Joh 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

It does not matter what our background in life had been; we are all treated the same by the Holy Spirit, but this does not mean we will all have the same gifts to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, and we are all united in One Body of Christ.

Act 10:45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.

We should understand that the Holy Spirit is in fact, the “Living Water” of God

There is only one Church, one Body of Christ.

*1Co 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many.
1Co 12:15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
1Co 12:16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
1Co 12:17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
1Co 12:18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.

Some who are less gifted feel like they are unimportant to the cause of Christ.

Some who are more gifted feel like they are God’s gift to the Church.

These are untrue things!

Every child of God has the same importance if we remain in the will of God!

The “Body of Christ” is not one member but all its members working in one cause.

Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

The unity of the Christian Church is most important because we seek one common life, and it is eternal life.

It is the Life of Jesus Christ that supplies nourishment to the Body of Christ, and if one part falls away, then the Body of Christ loses its strength.

Why is the Church failing today because much of the Church has abandoned the nourishment that can come only from Jesus Christ!

1) Each member is necessary.
2) Each member has an essential function in the Church. The Church cannot function if the members do not function according to the gifts given to them by the Holy Spirit.
3) Each member is placed in the Body of Christ according to the will of God. God does not just set prominent members in the Church; God sets all members in the Church.
4) Each member is distinct.

Rom 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Rom 12:6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith;
Rom 12:7 Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching;
Rom 12:8 Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

We must try to make the best use of the gifts God has given to us!

*1Co 12:19 And if they were all one member, where were the body?
1Co 12:20 But now are they many members, yet but one body.

Luk 10:21 In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

We must not envy those we think have more important gifts.

Those who seem to be more gifted must not look down on those who seem to have less gifts.

In fact, the less gifted members are more necessary to the Church!

That worker who is never seen by the crowd is much more essential to decisions for Jesus Christ than the evangelist who is at the center of view.

In fact, the prayer warrior who can reach Heaven may be the most essential member in the Church, even more than that great preacher behind that pulpit.

Charles Spurgeon had a hundred and twenty praying for him in a room right under his pulpit, and he gave the credit for his great sermons to them.

The point is that no believer or group of believers is to look down on the less gifted members in the Church, who are actually the backbone of the Church.

1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;
1Co 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:
1Co 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

*1Co 12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
1Co 12:22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary:
1Co 12:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness.

What we consider great or small is never the same as how Jehovah sees things.

To God, only one thing is important, and it is that we faithfully fulfill the order He has given to us, His will for us.

God does not reward the size of the gift but the faithfulness to use that gift.

Mat 25:21 His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

In the human body, we have things like the heart, the kidneys, the lungs, and other organs. Though we cannot see them, they are of crucial importance to the body.
In the Body of Christ, it is exactly like that.

All the work that is to be done for the Lord Jesus Christ must be bathed in prayer. Therefore, the greatest gift may be that prayer warrior, but every member has their importance to the plan of God.

Even those sitting in the pews each have their particular importance as prayer warriors, and workers who take God’s message out into the world.

We are to support one another as we love each other. Support can mean many things besides money. Sometimes a good compliment goes a long way if it is done in love.

We must take our place with the gift God has given to us and pay attention to where we can be of the most profit to others.

Love is the greatest power in the Church, and many times it is shown the most by the faithful women of the Church.

We are all to complement one another for the Church to reach those that God intends to be reached!

*1Co 12:24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked:
1Co 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.
1Co 12:26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

“Comely” means handsome, suitable, graceful, but just a little less than beautiful.

It can also mean well-formed, honorable, and noble.

We must understand that there is a difference between the Christian Doctrine of unity and equality, and the world’s doctrine of one standard for all.

In the Church, there is a place for the rich and the poor, the great and the small, the high and the low, the greatly gifted and those whose gift is unnoticeable to others, and no class of Christians is above the others or lower than the others in the Church.

We sometimes forget that it is the Lord Jesus who is building the Church for Our Heavenly Father.

With the Holy Spirit in the lead, the Church will be at peace with each other and the Church will be strong in the world.

A Church at peace and full of love will be full of members who have the same care for one another.

Act_4:32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul:

This should describe the Church that the Lord Jesus is building during the Church Age, while realizing that the Kingdom of God is very near.

When one member is suffering, then all the Church should be suffering with them.

When one member is rejoicing, every member should be rejoicing with them.

Not one member is more important than another in the eyes of God, and we must use this as the Lord’s design for the Church.

*1Co 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

Every believer is a member of the Body of Christ!

Every believer has their own place in the Body of Christ!

It is a supreme privilege to be known as a child of God!

1) God has set Apostles in the Church if we understand that the modern apostle is an ambassador for Christ.

As ambassadors for Christ, we belong to Christ. We are commissioned by Jesus Christ.

We possess the authority and the power of Christ through the Holy Spirit.

Just as every apostle, each ambassador is chosen by Jesus Christ.

There are no true Apostles today who saw the Lord Jesus when He was alive.

No one today possesses many of the gifts given to those Apostles.

Still, as ambassadors for Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit will give us the gifts that are needed and that we can use for the good of the Church and the glory of God.

2) Second, God has set prophets in the Church, but those prophets are our preachers, pastors, evangelists, and missionaries, and do not use the name prophet anymore because we have the complete Word of God which the Holy Spirit uses to give that man of God the message God wants us to have on that particular day.

I’m sure God still speaks to those He has called, but there is no new prophecy to be given that we do not already have in the Scriptures.

3) God has set teachers in the Church, and each teacher is to use the existing Scriptures to teach as the truth of God and not deviate from those Scriptures.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

4) It is only God who can perform miracles today, and much of it is because of prayer, but we also know we are surrounded by Angels, and we may not know until we get to Heaven the things God has saved us from and the miracles that have kept us going. Even when the Apostles performed miracles, it was through the power of God, not a power they had themselves. They also had the Holy Spirit living within them.

5) The gift of healing is no longer given to men but comes according to prayer and the will of God.

Jas 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
Jas 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
Jas 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

6) The gift of helps belongs to those who are always ready to jump in to help others who are in need. Some believers are always ready to lend a helping hand, and every Christian should have a part of this gift because it is a sign of love.

7) The gift of tongues is looked upon differently in many denominations, but the Bible is specific that the word tongues means languages and known languages.

Act 2:6 Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together, and were confounded, because that every man heard them speak in his own language.

Act 2:8 And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born?

Act 2:11 Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

They never spoke in an unknown language. This was never a foundational gift to the Church.

Tongues were actually a sign of unbelief!

1Co 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.
1Co 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

What we should understand is that the Holy Spirit will give us what we need to remain in the will of God and be useful to the glory of the Church and the glory of God.

There is a reason the Holy Spirit gives such gifts to believers: Eph 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:
Eph 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

We are to take the gifts of the Holy Spirit for the Glory of God and not any glory for ourselves!

Amen

Instructions for Godly Worship

1 Corinthians Chapter 11: Verses 17-34

What is the greatest problem of the modern church today? The modern church gathers together not for the betterment of the church, but for the worse.

We are to come together to hear the message God has for us on that particular day and apply that message to our lives when we step back into the world.

We know that if we love the Lord, then He knows it.

We had better know that the reason we attend church is also known to the Lord!

Do we come to receive the instructions from Jehovah so that we can grow in the Lord?
Do we come out of curiosity?
Do we come to observe worldly interest?
Do we come without any preparation of heart?

Are we soon wearying of the services we attend?

Eze 14:2 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
Eze 14:3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them?

Do we love the Word of God or not?
Are we just partially convinced of the truth of God?
Do we stifle the Holy Spirit?

If we do not come together for the betterment of the Church and our lives, then we will come together for the worse!

This is highly displeasing to Jehovah!

Php 3:18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:
Php 3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)
Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

There are only two ordinances assigned to the Church.

One is Baptism.
The other is the Lord’s Supper.

Our lesson today is concentrated on the Lord’s Supper.

Here in the South, when the word supper is mentioned, it used to mean that the last meal of the day, when the whole family would come together to prepare for the end of the day and maybe plan a little for the next day.

For the Jews, that evening supper was the principal meal of the day.

The Lord’s Supper is something that is, for the most part, entirely different.

In our church, we say communion, and communion is fellowship with the Lord.
Communion is between the Lord Jesus Christ and His people.

Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
Joh 14:24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.
Joh 14:25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.

The Lord’s Supper is called the cup of blessing because in it there is fellowship with Jesus Christ and His disciples, and among the disciples with one another.

1Co 10:16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
1Co 10:17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

Every child of God belongs to Jesus Christ, and we can enjoy our relationship with Him!

Only those who belong to Jesus Christ should take part in Communion.

As the Apostle Paul wrote to Philemon, communion means the good things in us that come by Jesus Christ.

Phm 1:4 I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers,
Phm 1:5 Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;
Phm 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

*1Co 11:17 Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not, that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

Paul begins his rebuke of the way this Corinthian Church was celebrating the Lord’s Supper.

As Independent Baptists, we only recognize two ordinances, which are baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

An ordinance is an outward rite prescribed by Jesus Christ to be performed by His Church.

Our Lord Jesus Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper on the night of His crucifixion.

Luk 22:14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
Luk 22:15 And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
Luk 22:16 For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
Luk 22:17 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
Luk 22:18 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
Luk 22:19 And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
Luk 22:20 Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.

This was the New Covenant in contrast with the old Mosaic Covenant.

Only through His death could this New Covenant be applied to the Church because it was the death of Christ that provided forgiveness of sins, which is discussed later in this lesson.

The Lord’s Supper is a memorial to the death of our Savior!

As we celebrate the memorial of our Savior, we must emphasize that we have faith that He died so that we could be forgiven.

This church in Corinth was even divided in this celebration, that is to remind us of what the Lord Jesus has already done for us.

1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
1Pe 2:25 For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

* 1Co 11:18 For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it.
1Co 11:19 For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.
1Co 11:20 When ye come together therefore into one place, this is not to eat the Lord’s supper.

These Corinthians were tragically abusing the Lord’s Supper!

When divisions are in any church, the Spirit of the Church is in disorder!

Minds and hearts are not upon the Lord but on the causes of this division.

Paul knew how these matters would grow and become rumors and exaggerations.

Paul understood there was great truth in the letter he had received from this church.

This church needed to work on its problems before it could be a true House of God.

None of these things could catch the Lord off guard or by surprise.

In fact, the Lord will allow these things to persist so the true believers can stand out in the turmoil.

These people who cause this division in any church will cause the love and truth of genuine believers to shine brightly, which is what verse 19 tells us.

No Spiritual unity can exist where there is no supreme affection for Jesus Christ.

We are all to unite with Jesus Christ because He is the Head of the Church.

It seems so many places of worship have forgotten this today.

The Lord’s Supper is our way of showing our faith in the Lord but here in Corinth it was perverted into a means of gluttony and drunkenness.

Today, we see churches that are perverted, Bibles that are perverted, and Christian ministries that are perverted.

The one good thing for the pastor of any church was that he could tell who were genuine Christians and those who were not.

*1Co 11:21 For in eating every one taketh before other his own supper: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.
1Co 11:22 What? have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or despise ye the church of God, and shame them that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

This gathering of this church was meaningless to the Lord, and He would never be a part of such a gathering!

It is impossible to have a divided church and honor the Lord Jesus!

Jas 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

When the early church observed the Lord’s Supper, they would incorporate it with what was called a “love feast”.

Everyone brought all the food they could in order that there would be plenty for everyone, including the poor and the slaves who could not bring very much.

The idea was to have a common meal where everyone shared, and everyone would have enough to eat.

This church at Corinth began to abuse the Supper. Instead of sharing, everyone sat off in their little group of friends and shared the food they brought only with that group.

Some were neglected and had very little to eat, if anything.
Some were indulging as gluttons, trying to make sure that group had nothing to eat.
Some treated the whole thing as a social gathering, bringing alcohol to drink off to the side and becoming drunk.

This was no longer a Christian fellowship, and there was no love shown to the brethren.

This was no celebration of the Lord’s Supper!

This celebration was meaningless and useless in furthering the Gospel and strengthening the Church.

This celebration ruined the testimony of this church.

Some outside the church who believed would talk about how Satan had accomplished so much in the church in such a short period of time.

Satan is working hard in many churches today!

Paul said you must despise the House of God to do such things.

Paul said Do you not have homes to do such things and not bring this inside the church.

They abused the sanctity of the Church.
They shamed the poor and the slaves who had little food.
They corrupted the Lord’s Supper.
They slapped the face of the Lord Jesus Christ.
They were proud of themselves.

A divided church is a sin against the Lord Jesus Christ.

Paul said, “How can I praise such a gathering in the House, the Lord Jesus has built”?

1Ti 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

1Ti 3:15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

Paul tells this church the truth of the Lord’s Supper.

*1Co 11:23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
1Co 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
1Co 11:26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come

What is the real meaning of the Lord’s Supper?

The Lord’s Supper involves our looking back to the historical event of the cross and anticipating His return, which could happen any day now.

The Lord’s Supper is a communion of believers with each other.

1Co 10:17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

At the Lord’s Supper, we will all eat and drink the same symbolic elements of the body of our Lord as we become the Body of Christ in common faith!

**What is the meaning of the bread? Jesus said: “Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me”.

We must remember that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Glory of God!

Joh 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

Joh 10:9 I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

The Lord Jesus took part in His final meal Himself. He was standing there with His disciples, who would become the Apostles.

That bread symbolized the Lord’s body.

**In passing the cup, Jesus said: “This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me”.

Jesus did not say this was His blood, but it symbolized His blood, just as it was a symbol of the New Covenant God has made with mankind.

His body had to be broken for this New Covenant to take place, and it was broken for all mankind, but especially for those who love Him.

The Lord Jesus substituted His body for my body on that cross and the body of every sinner who has ever lived and will live in the future, though that future may now be short.

Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

**The Lord did these things for us, and of the bread He said: “This do in remembrance of me”

Of the cup He said: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me”.

This means we are to stir up our minds to meditate upon the person of Jesus Christ, the Holy Son of God.

The Old Covenant, the Old Testament, is set aside, and this New Covenant is the blood of Jesus Christ and not the blood of bulls and goats.

Heb 9:13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Every church is to set time aside to observe the Lord’s Supper, which is to concentrate our minds upon our Savior.

His death.
His return.

Jesus Christ died for us that we might live for Him!

We must understand that there can be severe consequences for taking part in the Lord’s Supper unworthily!

*1Co 11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
1Co 11:28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
1Co 11:29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
1Co 11:30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

We know that Paul has sent this letter by Timothy to preach to the Corinthian church, but this letter would be preached to every Christian church of that day, and we have a copy of it today.

We know that if we have sin in our hearts, God will not answer our prayers.

Psa 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

In partaking of the Lord’s Supper, we must understand its purpose.

Psa_116:13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.
Psa 116:14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

The same night of the Lord’s Supper, we know that He was betrayed by Judas Iscariot.

If we partake of the Lord’s Supper with sin in our lives, then we are not saved by the “grace” of God, we have not accepted the New Covenant of God, and we have partaken of the Lord’s Supper unworthily.

The Lord Jesus died for our sins; He had no sin.

The Lord’s Supper shows forth His death until He returns!

This event commemorates the death of our Savior.

1) Not His life, for He lived in holiness without sin.
2) Not His teaching, though He spoke in Divine Truth.
3) Not His miracles, though He walks in mercy.
4) But His death, not glorious, but broken. His blood, not flowing through His veins, but shed for all mankind.

The Lord’s Supper is when we see our own sins laid upon Him
The Lord’s Supper is when we see our souls washed by Him.
The Lord’s Supper is when we see our doom reversed by Him.
The Lord’s Supper is when we see our lives secured by Him.

So, we must show forth His death till He comes.

The eleven disciples who remained became more faithful witnesses after the Lord’s Supper, and we should also, if we can see how great our salvation is.

Those who partake of the Lord’s Supper unworthily put the Lord in open shame.

Heb 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Heb 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
Heb 6:6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Those who have no concept of the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, His death in payment for our sin, and partake of the Lord’s Supper show irreverence of the body and the blood of the Son of God, will stir the judgment of God the Father.

It sounds serious because it is serious!

1Jn 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

*1Co 11:31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
1Co 11:32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.
1Co 11:33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another.
1Co 11:34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that ye come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come.

If we know we have unconfessed sin, we should not take part in the two ordinances of the Church, and certainly not the Lord’s Supper.

If we take that word “judgment” to mean “discern,” we need to examine ourselves to make sure we are not living in sin or carrying some unconfessed sin in our hearts; we must certainly not take part in the Lord’s Supper.

We must confess our sin and repent of that sin, knowing that God will chasten us, but He chastens us out of His love for us. If we continue in sin, we may be running the risk of being judged with the unbelievers.

We must share and demonstrate our love by putting others first, serving one another.

We must not bring condemnation upon ourselves. We must repent of our old life. We must change what we have been doing.
We can eat our meals at home, but the Lord’s Supper is for those who truly trust in the salvation plan of God through the Lord Jesus Christ.

When Jonah realized His sin, he cried unto the Lord with these words: Jon 2:2 And said, I cried by reason of mine affliction unto the LORD, and he heard me; out of the belly of hell cried I, and thou heardest my voice.

Amen

My God is Jehovah

Elijah-The Courageous Prophet

Book of 2 Kings Chapter 1

God’s Prophet Elijah.

The Hebrew name Elijah means “My God is Jehovah.”

We are all called to be Elijah’s today.

Elijah was a sight to behold. His hair hung down his back, and he wore a girdle of skin around his loins; sometimes, he placed a mantle over it.

A mantle would normally be a sheepskin worn like a cape.

We first meet Elijah when he confronts King Ahab of the Northern Tribes of Israel.

We know that Elijah had gone to King Ahab with a message from Jehovah.

1Ki 17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

Elijah then escaped the vengeance of Jezebel.

1Ki 19:2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

God provided the needs of Elijah with this small brook while ravens brought him meat to eat.

Next, God sent Elijah to Zarephath to the house of a widow woman where God prolonged her oil and meal until the drought was over and where Elijah restored the life of her son.

God used Elijah on other occasions

This is the Ahab who had as his wife Jezebel. Jezebel was the daughter of the king of the Zidonians whose name was Ethbaal.

The name Ehtbaal means enjoying the favor and protection of Baal.

Jezebel did everything she could to stamp out the worship of Jehovah.

She was a wicked woman.

She also had a daughter named Athaliah who married the King of Judah named Jehoram who was also the only woman who occupied the throne of Judah.

We will see the great influence these two wicked women had on the children of Israel.

Elijah was one of those people that if you ever met him, you would certainly never forget him.

Elijah may be the weirdest figure among the prophets of Israel.

One moment Elijah was a powerhouse for God and the next he was running for his life afraid of Jezebel because he had caused the death of her false priests who could not get their false god to cooperate with them.

Jehovah had special patience with Elijah and now he was serving the Lord with passion again.

It is probably three or four years or more before we see Elijah in our lesson today.

*2Ki 1:1 Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.

As the tribes of Israel divided the Moabites came under the control of Jeroboam but they had revolted as they saw the weakness of Israel.

King Omri of Israel regained control over them, and they were tributaries to King Ahab.

They now saw weakness in King Ahaziah and revolted again against Israel.

Ahaziah was another King of Israel who rebelled against the Lord God Jehovah.

Jehovah then sends a rejuvenated Elijah.

*2Ki 1:2 And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease.
2Ki 1:3 But the angel of the LORD said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron?

For some reason, King Ahaziah had fallen through latticework or a trellis work on a window or balcony in his upper chamber.

This means it was probably not the flat roof of the house, but it was high enough to cause him serious trouble.

His sickness was caused by the wounds he had received from the fall. Probably infection.

We know that this is the son of Jezebel, and he follows his mother in requesting help from her false gods which of course could not help him.

There was a noted chamber for Baal-zebub, the Lord of the Flies, at Ekron.

In the New Testament the Lord Jesus Christ was accused of serving Baal-zebub by the Pharisees.

Mat 12:24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
Mat 12:25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
Mat 12:26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
Mat 12:27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out? therefore they shall be your judges.
Mat 12:28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you.

Who in the world would go to the Prince of Dung, or the Lord of the Flies to seek medical help?

This is why Jehovah said they became fools for turning away from the true God.

This still applies today!

We know that Elisha was often found on Mount Carmel where there was most likely a school of the prophets.

It seems that Elijah may have also resided at this location.

The city of Samaria had been built and made the royal residence of the King of Israel.

We will even see that Samaria may be substituted and used as Israel for the kingdom of the ten tribes of Israel.

Elijah met these messengers from King Ahaziah, and he asked them “Is it because there is no God in Israel that you go and enquire of Baalzebub?

This is a good place for us to learn about our Savior.

If we consult with someone besides the Lord on important matters such as our health, we will never get the answer we seek.

We will consult with doctors, but we should not consult with anyone until we have talked it over with the Lord.

Elijah gave these men the answer that Baalzebub would give, there would be no healing of the King.

Jehovah would certainly not heal him.

*2Ki 1:4 Now therefore thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed.
2Ki 1:5 And when the messengers turned back unto him, he said unto them, Why are ye now turned back?

No matter who you are, when you are sick or have been in an accident, causing bodily harm, you will want some help.

Ahaziah was a man whose health was leaving him, and he knew it.

He did not have a personal relationship with Jehovah, so he sent for help from a false god.

Who in the world would go to someone called the “lord of the Flies” or the “prince of dung” and expect to be healed?

Baalzebub seemed to be his only help which meant he had no one to help him.

Deu_4:28 And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men’s hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

When we ignore Doctor Jesus, we deserve whatever calamity we are suffering because we dishonor Jehovah who only has the power to heal.

He made us and He knows what makes us tick!

God will vindicate Himself, in His own time before all unbelievers!

Notice also that almost every human will seek some higher power when they are too weak to help themselves.

Even atheism is a religion whether they agree or not. Even they believe in something!

Like almost everyone on a sickbed, this king wanted to know how this thing would turn out. I know I did, and I know where I am going when I die.

Jehovah is so much more than some fortune teller!

Ahaziah may not have ever met Elijah, but he had heard of him through his father, and he knew that the things he said would come to be true.

*2Ki 1:6 And they said unto him, There came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, Go, turn again unto the king that sent you, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron? therefore thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.
2Ki 1:7 And he said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words?
2Ki 1:8 And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins. And he said, It is Elijah the Tishbite.

It seemed to Ahaziah that the only way to stop the truth of Elijah was to kill him.

It should be clear to us that anyone who rejects the LORD and turns to a false god is foolish.

This is the biggest mistake that any person can make. All the world knows of the GRACE of the LORD even though they may not believe Him.

All the leaders of false religion know they serve false gods all tied to Satan, the Devil.

Those false gods have no life, no consciousness or power to help anyone so they are trusting fate.

Jehovah has a love that no one understands for all the people on this earth, but He also has His requirements.

Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Joh 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

God loves us all enough that He would never leave us in the dark, grasping and groping around to find our way in the dark.

Jehovah tells us only the truth in a world that is full of lies.

As time goes by, we see more and more of the truth of God come out into the open.

He is the only God who can help us and meet our needs!

In fact, Jehovah promises to meet all our needs!

King Ahaziah had been duped by his mother and his father was a weak man who was controlled by Jezebel.

Pro 1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;
Pro 1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:
Pro 1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;
Pro 1:27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.
Pro 1:28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:
Pro 1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

Where Jezebel, his mother had failed Ahaziah hoped to succeed. He sent a captain of his army with fifty soldiers to hunt down Elijah.

*2Ki 1:9 Then the king sent unto him a captain of fifty with his fifty. And he went up to him: and, behold, he sat on the top of an hill. And he spake unto him, Thou man of God, the king hath said, Come down.
2Ki 1:10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

We should know that when Jehovah tells us something then we can rest that it is fact and unchangeable.

If Ahaziah had repented, then Jehovah may have helped him, but to react with more stubbornness could not help him at all.

Fifty soldiers seemed like an awful lot of men just to kill one man, but Jehovah would not have allowed a thousand soldiers to take Elijah on this day.

It did not take long to find Elijah because he was not hiding.

He may have hidden from Jezebel, but his confidence had been restored.

We are only humans so, we can go through periods of weakness, but our strength is in the Lord!

No one was going to force this man of God to be arrested unless he chose to do so.

Fire came down from Heaven and destroyed this group of men.

The king would try this again.

*2Ki 1:10 And Elijah answered and said to the captain of fifty, If I be a man of God, then let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And there came down fire from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.
2Ki 1:11 Again also he sent unto him another captain of fifty with his fifty. And he answered and said unto him, O man of God, thus hath the king said, Come down quickly.
2Ki 1:12 And Elijah answered and said unto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come down from heaven, and consume thee and thy fifty. And the fire of God came down from heaven, and consumed him and his fifty.

It should be very clear God allows us to come boldly to the Throne of Grace, but we had better not make demands when we get there.

It should have been very clear to King Ahaziah that Jehovah was not going to help him. He had been offered Ahaziah a path to repentance and he rejected it,

We should remember what God had said before He sent a worldwide flood.

Gen_6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man

We may not know how many times we can reject the Holy Spirit, but the Holy Spirit knows when He is wasting His time on us.

Today we must understand that God’s help will come from the places where He says we can find it!

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Joh 14:7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

When God has spoken, He cannot then change His Word unless the sinner changes his ways!

The only strength we have to change Heaven lies in our direct contact with Heaven through our prayers.

This will not work if we have sin in our lives.

Psa 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Another thing we must consider is that when God has told us to do one thing then we have no obligation to give in to the world.

Elijah knew he did not have to come down off that mountain under the threat of some king.

God will not do for one what He will not He will not do for another, and He will protect us in the same way as He did Elijah under the right circumstances.

Elijah was a powerful prophet who had the ear of God!

2Ti 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Elijah called down fire from Heaven and fifty more soldiers and their captain perished.

There is a proper way to approach the man of God!

*2Ki 1:13 And he sent again a captain of the third fifty with his fifty. And the third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life, and the life of these fifty thy servants, be precious in thy sight.
2Ki 1:14 Behold, there came fire down from heaven, and burnt up the two captains of the former fifties with their fifties: therefore let my life now be precious in thy sight.

Does God care about life?

Isa 66:2 For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that is poor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.

We can be sure that Jehovah holds our life in His hands!

We already know that God loves all His creations, especially those made in His image, but God still insists that we believe what He has to say.

Luk 13:1 There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.
Luk 13:2 And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
Luk 13:3 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
Luk 13:4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
Luk 13:5 I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

We seem to dwell upon all those who died in the Old Testament when we should concentrate on those who were spared.

God loved us enough to send His only begotten Son to die in our place just so we can live with Him throughout eternity. How can the world say God has no love for life?

The blood of Jesus was the full price for our salvation!

Psa 49:8 (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)

Heb 9:12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

There should be no doubt in our minds that God will receive each of us if we just believe what He says!

There should also be no doubt that God will reject us if we refuse to be like Jesus Christ in valuing the lives of our brothers and sisters in Christ.

Jesus came to save life and not to destroy life! Life is precious to our Heavenly Father!

Now we may not know what Elijah would have said but we do know what this angel from Heaven said.

*2Ki 1:15 And the angel of the LORD said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king.

What is one of the jobs of angels? To comfort and assure God’s people.

Act 27:23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
Act 27:24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
Act 27:25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

Angels will also watch over our children.

Mat 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

When we are in the will of God, He will protect us even from corrupt governments.

It works best for us when we go boldly to the Lord at any sign of trouble.

We can ask great things of God if we do it properly.

God loves us so whatever happens to us is the concern of our Heavenly Father!

No matter the trial or the temptation, the hardship or the misfortune He will not allow us to go through these things alone.

Elijah did not need to fear this armed guard or King Ahaziah.

What was God’s message to this king?

*2Ki 1:16 And he said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baalzebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die.

There is only one escape from the “judgment” of God, and it is through the blood of Jesus Christ!

Sin causes death!

The things we get the most from the Old Testament are God’s holiness, God’s justice, God’s righteousness, and God’s severity against sin stands out.

Elijah was God’s messenger to King Ahaziah, and he had no malice against this king, he simply gave him God’s message and the reason why.

We can be sure that the Gospel of Jesus Christ will never change just because people do not want to hear it!

Psa 1:5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
Psa 1:6 For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

King Ahaziah died just as the Lord had said. He never came off his sickbed.

Amen

The Marks of the True Preacher

Marks of Paul’s Ministry

Book of 1 Thessalonians Chapter 2

What seems to be the problem with the Church today, is the fact that there are not enough strong preachers who preach the Word of God as the truth that it is.

It seems that far too many have their own concept of what the Word of God is teaching.

Many of them just tickle the ears of those in the pews so they can pad their pockets and keep their job.

God teaches us that we are not to have our own interpretation of the Word of God!

2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

Not one of the prophets of God came by their own interpretation of what God was saying.

They wrote down exactly what God was telling them to write and they were guided by the Holy Spirit to make sure what they wrote was the message that God intended for us to have.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2Ti 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

It is not the preacher’s job to interpret what God is saying, it is the preacher’s job to explain what God is saying.

Neh_8:8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

Too many so-called preachers are just preaching their own version of the Bible when God said not to do that.

What were some of the marks of the ministry of the Apostle Paul?

*1Th 2:1 For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
1Th 2:2 But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.

If we look at the city of Thessalonica, we can see the same things happening then are still happening in our own nation today.

Those that reject the Word of God were trying to convince the general public that the preaching of Jesus Christ would destroy their freedoms and affect their jobs and businesses, when the fact is that this is far from the truth.

We know that Paul had to flee from Thessalonica to save his life.

The Word of God did not flee, so the attacks upon the Church and its believers continued.

Since the persecutors could not get to Paul, they then attempted to destroy his reputation.

In America today we see that there is an attempt to destroy the Church.

In fact, these people have become so bold they attempt to destroy anyone and everyone who stands against their wicked and immoral ways.

Not much has changed in this sinful world as we approach the same sinful ways the days before the flood and the days of Lot.

Again the Word of God did not flee and the Church at Thessalonica prospered for many years.

The Word of God cannot be destroyed nor can the true Church with the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ.

When Paul could not go to Thessalonica, he wrote the two books to this church that bear their name.

We also know that the writings of Paul were also shared with every church.

The Holy Spirit included these letters in what is known as the New Testament today.

Paul knew how the unbelievers liked to exaggerate the lies that they proposed, and stirred up as many problems for the Church as they could and we still see these same tactics today.

The tactics of the Devil do not have to change because most people want to do as they please rather than live righteously.

People are only concerned about themselves and not anyone else.

The Lord Jesus is our example in how to live righteously.

The Apostle Paul can be our example in how to serve in the ministry of God.

The Apostle Paul was good Church Planter because the Word of God is true and the cause of Christ is real.

The faith of the true Church is valid!

We are truly saved and our names are truly written down in the Lamb’s Book of Life in Heaven!

Heaven is a real place just as Hell is a real place.

These things are real because they are true!

The message of the Apostle Paul was not empty, ineffective, or fruitless, because the message of the Lord Jesus Christ is a real message because it is a true message.

When we live for Jesus Christ were are living in reality!

The “fruit” of the “Gospel” is permanent and cannot be changed by this world.

The “Tempter” the Devil, may ruin our testimony if we succumb to his tricks, but he cannot change our outcome.

A good preacher will preach boldly the truth of God because he knows it is the truth.

A good preacher will preach boldly the truth of God even when he is opposed by those in the pews.

Thank God for our Pastor!

The Apostle Paul was opposed in every city he went to, but it did not change his message.

Those who change their message because of opposition to it, are then liars and no longer have the truth.

Bold preaching is one proof of a strong preacher.

Bold preaching is to preach the truth of God and not to concentrate on those who oppose his message because there will always be those who oppose it.

Those that oppose the Gospel of Jesus Christ will also break the laws of the land to do so.

Act 16:37 But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
Act 16:38 And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.

It was not an easy task to bring the Gospel to the Gentiles in Europe.

The secret of the bold preacher is that they always preach the message that the Holy Spirit has given to them!

Without the power of the Holy Spirit there are no true preachers!

*1Th 2:3 For our exhortation was not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
1Th 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

When we speak the message of the Lord Jesus Christ, we know we are speaking the truth!

The Word of God is free from all that is false and impure.

It is true Christians that make brave Christians.

To exhort, is to incite which is good and that which is commendable according to the dictionary.

Listen to Jeremiah: Jer 4:14 O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?

Paul wrote to the Colossian Church: Col 1:3 We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
Col 1:4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
Col 1:5 For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is one of the few truths that is left in this wicked world that is so full of deceit.

No one even expects to hear the truth anymore, especially from our politicians.

We do not get the truth from our news sources, or from our government, nor is the truth taught in our schools anymore.

The truth is being erased from all documents because the truth will upset too many people and change the narrative of our government which strives on deceit!

The Gospel stands out as the eternal truth of the Living Unchanging God!

The bold Preacher preaches a pure “Gospel”, and lives a clean life, and certainly does not deceive the people of God!

The bold preacher does not follow the latest theological fashion in order to appear up to date with some so-called modern “Gospel”.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is pure and needs to be preached as pure.

No preacher has the right to change the message of God!

Every wicked rumor about the Apostle Paul proved to be false.

I can assure you, if we hear an immoral rumor about our own Pastor, you can bet it is a false rumor and should be ignored and our Pastor defended.

The Apostle Paul was sincere and genuine and he preached the truth so that people could be truly saved and their names written down in Heaven.

Paul preached for the glory of God and not for any personal glory which none of us have.

If we are not trying to please God then we are not who we say we are!

Most people do not want to hear about sin and judgment, but these are facts.
Most people do not want to hear that the Lord Jesus is the only path to Heaven, but it is a fact.
Most people do not want to hear that we are to commit ourselves to the Lord Jesus Christ, but it is the truth.

Preaching the truth is not very popular, but a bold preacher will not tone down his message to appease those before him.

It is God’s “Gospel” and it will be God who will judge that one He has called to preach that Gospel”!

Those that reject the truth of God are already doomed to Hell!

Every child of God will give an account of the ministry God has given to us, even that bold preacher.

It is God which tries our hearts to see if we have deviated from the truth of the Gospel!

This should frighten those who preach a false gospel, but they are not believers themselves and most of them are just in it for the money and the true Judge will eventually get them in His court and their judgment will be terrible.

*1Th 2:5 For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God is witness:
1Th 2:6 Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.

That word “flattery” used in this Scripture implies compliments that are given in order to get something out of people.

Paul refused to flatter people in order to secure their friendship or their following, or their support!

Paul’s message was that “we are all sinners”.

Paul did commend many people and we read about those things in every epistle that he has written.

Paul said God was his witness to this truth.

The Apostle Paul was accused of being in the ministry of the Lord because of His greed, so Paul supported himself all his days by menial work.

Every church that Paul established in the Lord knew this to be true.

We should understand that there is much in the word of God that is distasteful to the unbeliever, and it is because they do not understand God’s purpose for including these things in the Scriptures.

Even if the Word of God was considered to be perfect in the world, there would be many who would find fault in what God has said to us.

The Word of God exposes our depraved sin nature and our helplessness against the Devil.

The Word of God exposes us to some mysteries that the world says God should explain.

The Word of God has only one “judgment” for sin, when the world sees minor sin and major sin.

The Word of God says it is the truth of our world, yet earthly science rejects this truth because they reject the Divine God.

Just because the world objects to the truth of the Lord Jesus, our God, it does not make it any less true!

The strong Pastor and preacher does not minister for glory, nor for prestige, nor for authority.

They seek only to please the God that called them into His service.

This should be true of every child of God!

It is only the false preacher that has a selfish ambition.

The “Gospel” belongs to the Lord Jesus!

He is indeed the Author of our salvation!

There is no other “gospel” for mankind!

As a wise man once said, “The Gospel is that Star by which we can navigate through the Sea of Life and land upon the Shores of Eternity”.

Those that preach the true “Gospel” are not angels nor can they ever be!

An angel knows nothing of the passions and the feelings of being a human.
Angels cannot understand the trials and temptations that we go through.

The “Gospel” must be preached by men such as Paul and Silas and James and the others called of God.

Men cannot be preachers who become Christians.

Preachers must first be Christians who have been called of God to preach the Gospel.

They must be sincere and bold because they preach the only truth of this world.

The Gospel contains no false theories, no wild imaginations, and no empty speculations!

The “Gospel” is the truth of our Creator and His message of truth for our eternal salvation!

*1Th 2:7 But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
1Th 2:8 So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.

This word nurse as used here means a nursing mother and not some baby sitter.

Most every mother are like a nurse to their children, especially that new born babe.

Paul said this is the same way he was around those who were at that time babes in Christ.

This is the same way the Lord Jesus is around all His children.

This is the same thought of our Heavenly Father as He looks down upon us from Heaven!

There is no better way to describe the love that the Lord has for us.

The Apostle Paul had a mother-like affection for all those babes in Christ in Thessalonica because this is the truth of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Mat_23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

That hen is a fitting example of a nursing mother who will shield her babies from all the evils of this world.

This was the way of Paul and all the Apostles and more important this is the way of our Heavenly Father who sent His Son, the Messiah, Jesus to provide us with Heaven’s Security.

The Apostle Paul sacrificed all his personal goals and any private life to be that “mother hen” to the Churches he planted.

Php 3:7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

This is the same gentleness and patient endurance that comes from our Lord Jesus Christ!

A good Christian is that person who uses utmost gentleness to have utmost strength in serving in that place where the Lord has placed us.

These are things we must consider if we are going to serve in the will of God for our lives!

This is the love that is the power of the good preacher.

I thank God for the Pastor God has placed in my life who expresses the love of God to all he meets.

*1Th 2:9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.

The strong and true pastor preaches and ministers, laboring night and day.

Such was the Apostle Paul!

Paul was the servant of Christ Jesus trying to meet the desperate needs of this world and reach men and woman with the truth of the Gospel.

Paul only slept and rested only as he needed.

What did Paul mean when he said he would not be chargeable to any man?

Paul meant that every true called man of God has the blood of the world upon his hands, and will be held accountable for getting the message of Christ out to them.

That message was that they can be saved from death and receive eternal life.

Eze 33:8 When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.
Eze 33:9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.

The Gospel is the greatest “Good News” that has even been conceived but the Gospel is also “a warning” to all those who would reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

To the Apostle Paul the work he was doing was a labor of love.

2Th 3:8 Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
2Th 3:9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
2Th 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

These things took a toll on the Apostle Paul but he never quit on God.

2Co 11:27 In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
2Co 11:28 Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

Paul was a tent maker by trade and this work was most always available.

By supporting himself, Paul was free to direct his own movements and raised himself above evil suspicions.

It was sometimes a telling thing when Paul would raise his hands in worship of the Lord showing the hands of tentmaker blackened from that work.

Act 20:34 Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

No one could accuse the Apostle Paul of preaching for money.

It is also true that the preacher must lead an impeccable life.

*1Th 2:10 Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
1Th 2:11 As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father doth his children,
1Th 2:12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.

Paul lived a holy life before God after his conversion. A life separated from the world and set apart totally to God.
Paul lived a just and righteous life before men. A life that loved and treated men just as God said and just as he wanted to be treated himself.
Paul lived a blameless life before both God and man!

Paul told these Thessalonians that they were his witnesses to these truths.

It was not just Paul but those with Him, which would include Silas and Timothy and we know that Luke traveled with Paul much of the time and there were others.

We should understand that even in the day of Paul the world just did not want to hear the truth.

As Christians it is important that we walk worthy of God and this is a very high standard.

We must walk in harmony with the Word of God.

In today’s world the Word of God has not changed, but those who will walk in harmony with the Word of God are not as many.

It is the same reason; the world just does not want to hear the truth.

They foolishly believe that they have no purpose, but to sin and they reject that there is life after death.

The best witness tool we have as Christians is the lifestyle we live!

The governments of today insists that parents of today do not know how to raise their children.

I submit to you that those governments do not want our children to know the truth and they certainly do not know how to raise our children.

It takes a good father to lead his family and our Heavenly Father gives us the example that we need to follow through His Son and His Word.

The Bible is about the family and it only works when we are in the family of God our Father.

We are invited to enter into God’s Kingdom while we are on this earth and we can participate in its blessing, but we also know that we will one day live in God’s Heavenly World.

The world teaches that society is made by groups when the Lord Jesus teaches that society is made by each loving individual.

As a father who earnestly gives his children the right guidance and the right instructions, this was the way of the Apostle Paul because this is the way of our Heavenly Father.

“Walking” should mean that we are on the path of the Lord and making steady progress in serving the Lord.

What did God tell Abraham?

Gen_17:1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; “walk before me, and be thou perfect”.

This has never changed and as the children of God our Father we are to follow this same path!

We must continue to press forward in the name of the Lord!

Php_3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

We seem to sometimes forget that we already have a place reserved for us in Heaven!

Jesus Christ requires that we live a Christian life.
Jesus Christ requires that we live as He did.
Jesus Christ enables us if we truly follow Him to live.

Without Jesus we cannot live a Christian life!

Gal 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

We must understand that the Word of God is the ultimate truth of this world.

*1Th 2:13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

A strong people will receive the Word of God as the Word of God!

It takes people to proclaim the Word of God.

No one can get the Word of God without someone else having a part in taking that Word of God to them.

This is the function of the Church.
This is the reason for giving away Bibles.
This is the reason for our tract ministry.
This is why we witness!

This Church in Thessalonica believed it.

The Apostle Paul believed it.

Those that traveled with Paul believed it.

I believe it.

Do you believe it?

Most of this world only believe that the Scriptures were all given by some man and they cannot be further from the truth.

Most of this world believe that the Old Testament is nothing but a book of fables, yet they will believe the lies writings such as those of Karl Marx.

Most believe that the New Testament just tells us what the Apostles believed about Jesus, when much of it is written by eyewitnesses to His existence.

The Bible proclaims it is the Word of God.

The fact of the unity of the Scriptures, written by so many different men over such a vast amount of time could not have been completed unless it came from one mind.

These Scriptures have change millions of lives for God.

God can speak only the truth and it is the truth we need, not a pack of lies by our own government and a reckless society.

We must understand that the Supreme Authority for accepting the Word of God is the Lord Jesus Christ.

Joh 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Joh 5:40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.

Jesus Christ was a historical person.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

The Bible is the Word of God!

The Bible is what we are to base our faith upon.

It is time we based our life on the truth and not the lies of this world!

Amen

The Word Became Flesh

The Word Became Flesh

Book of John 1:1-14

Some things we know about John the Apostle of Jesus Christ:

1) John was one of the very first disciples.
2) John was a fisherman along with his brother James.
3) John left everything he had behind to serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
4) John was called the “beloved disciple”.
5) John was the disciple that Jesus committed the care of His mother.
6) John was said by Paul to be one of the 3 pillars of the church. Paul considered James the brother of the Lord Jesus, Peter, and John to be the 3 pillars of the early church. We cannot dispute the Apostle Paul, but I believe he was also a pillar of the early church, at least for the Gentiles.
7) John was the only apostle that died of natural causes.

When John was old and feeble his only sermon was “Little children love one another”.

When asked why he would continue with this sermon he replied, “It is the Lord’s command”.

We sometimes forget that we are certainly commanded to love one another, and it is not a request, it is a command given to us by the Lord our Christ, our Messiah.

John shows throughout all his writings that the Old Testament prophecies of the Messiah find their fulfillment in the Lord Jesus Christ!

*****Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

John states that “before”, there was even one thing created by God, God had a plan of salvation and this plan would be followed until the very end!

We know that all the Word of God has been brought to us by specific men chosen and tutored by the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit will always lead us to the Lord Jesus Christ.

John said the Old Testament is so full of words that describe the birth, the life, and the death of the Messiah, He could actually be called the Word!

It should be obvious that the Word was distinct from God, so we can see the beginning of our understanding of the Triune God.

The Godhead was clearly revealed in the Old Testament.

Psa 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

God the Deity and God the Shepherd in the flesh, are two parts of the Triune God. We know the Holy Spirit is the third!

The Messiah is to be a Shepherd and when we acknowledge this truth, the Lord who came in the flesh, is truly our Shepherd.

Our Shepherd existed before creation had begun!

The Book of John was certainly written to the lost and to the Jews but, until the Word of God came along, the Gentiles knew nothing of a Messiah.

The Messiah, God in the flesh, is the very center of Christianity and the Book of John will lead us to this truth.

The Jews saw words as not just a sound, but something alive and existing and John begins with this statement, the “Word was God” so the Jews could easily understand the truth of the Messiah.

We will see that God has given us much more than the Holy Scriptures, God has given us Himself in the flesh, the Lord Jesus Christ!

When we read the Word of God we can see the ultimate character of God and this same character was in Jesus Christ

The Lord Jesus Christ lived the words that were written of Him!

Jesus Christ was not created of God because He is God in the flesh, one third of the Holy Trinity!

Psa 90:1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.
Psa 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

Since Jesus Christ is the God of the Bible, then we must clearly understand, “that sin is far more abominable in the sight of God”, than most of us see it to be.

We have made sin to just be bad behavior, but sin is an abomination in the eyes of the Lord!

Therefore the Scriptures teach us to hate sin, but we are never to hate the sinner.

We should understand that when God speaks, things happen and “we can be made new”, if we will listen to what God has to say and apply it to our lives!

Faith does not mean much unless it brings with it action!

*****Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.

There are many times that God repeats Himself to show the importance in what He had just said.

God wants to point out to us the importance of His character as the Triune God, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Not three Gods but One God in three persons.

John wants us to clearly understand that the Word, the Messiah (Jesus Christ) and the Father in Heaven are one and the same person!

1Jn_5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.

It must be clear to all the world that we have an “Amazing God” who loves us enough to make us His home until we can get to His heavenly home!

Most of this world see Jesus Christ only as some man and it is true that He took on the fashion of a man, but each believer sees Christ for who He is, the very substance of God in all His perfect being!

Php 2:4 Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
Php 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
Php 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of all the Word of God and therefore self-existent and eternal, the Son of the “Living” God!

The Word is the way God chose to introduce Himself to mankind, His greatest creation. Why?

God knew that many would look at His creations and call them accidents that just happen to have happened. Even a fruitcake can see the that our world is in too much order to have happened by accident.

The Lord Jesus Christ is indeed God in visible action!

After all if Jesus Christ is then God then He would also be our Creator!

*****Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

We should understand that all things, but God were created. Our world had to have a Creator and to believe otherwise is foolishness!

Verse one and two describe things the way they were before any act of creation took place!

We must all understand that “all things” were made of God and without God there would be no creation and we would not exist.

God created everything we see and that we cannot see in the first six days of our beginning because we know God rested on the seventh day.

Not because God was tired but because he had completed what He had set out to do!

There are no creations by man because if man makes anything then he must use something that God has already made.

If our Savior and our Creator creates anything new today, it would be that “Born Again” child of God that only He can make new!

The Word of God is a reality, it is truly the Word of God.

Col 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
Col 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the glue that binds this world together!

Jesus Christ’s greatest creation is life, the living things there is nothing on this earth made that is not teeming with life.

A man once wrote “the basic difference between man and beast is speech. Animals cannot speak to man as they speak to themselves”!

We should understand that this world belongs to God and He does with it “as He pleases”!

We should understand that God is not far off removed from His creation but is very near showing great concern for the welfare of His created beings.

We should also understand that the problems in this world do not come from God, but they come because of sin!

The answer to these problems cannot come from man because only Christ Jesus has the answer to all our problems.

God is all about life and life eternal.

*****Joh 1:4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

We cannot know true life without the Lord Jesus Christ!

Jesus Christ led a life of perfection to show us that it is possible for us to yearn for perfection in our own lives!

From the beginning in the days of Adam, God has proved He wanted to be up close and personal with His creation.

The knowledge of Jesus Christ is to be our light in this world that belongs to Him.

Joh 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

1Jn 1:5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
1Jn 1:6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
1Jn 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

The message of God is really very simple. He says come let us walk together and I will be the light of your path!

*****Joh 1:5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

We live in a dark world made darker by our own sin. When Satan was booted out of Heaven he came to this earth and he brought darkness with him!

Much of world wants to remain in darkness forever but God is not going to allow that to continue much longer.

Jesus Christ has shown us the way to escape this darkness because He has no darkness within Him!

2Co 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

When the Light of Christ shined on this world then darkness fled and Satan hides in his darkness because he does not want us to see the “nobody” that he is!

Turn on your light in a dark room and you will see darkness flee to hide until the light goes back off.

When we walk with the Lord we become a light ourselves and then we can shed that light on our families, our neighborhood and then our cities.

Mat_5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid.

Without Jesus Christ there would be no life and then there would be no light.

It is Jesus Christ who gives us purpose.
It is Jesus Christ shows us the meaning of life.
It is Jesus Christ who shows us the significance of our life.

After John has made us aware and the understanding of the Triune God, He then begins to tell us about the life of our Savior, from a man(John) that spent much time with Him and loved Him while He was upon this earth and he will begin with the forerunner, John the Baptist.

Our life improves when we fall in love with Jesus the Messiah!

We are cautioned not to forget what we have just learned.

*****Joh 1:6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

The Old Testament will lead everyone to Jesus the Messiah, when we take the time to study the Scriptures as God commanded and it is these same Scriptures that tell us about a forerunner paving the way for our Master.

Mal 3:1 Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.

That man was John the Baptist.

There is also this Scripture in the Book of Isaiah:

Isa 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Isa 40:4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
Isa 40:5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Did the Lord need someone to go before Him, I don’t think so, but the Scriptures must be fulfilled according to the way God intended them?

There is a purpose for every Word, every dot, and every tittle, in God’s written Scriptures

There will be a complete fulfillment of the Word of God!

Mat_5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Jesus the Messiah was before the beginning of creation, John was just a man, called of God with a special calling.

This was a part of John’s sermon:

Joh 3:28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.
Joh 3:29 He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
Joh 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease.

John the Baptist as the forerunner of the Messiah, also had to live his life as close as he could to perfection!

Luk 1:15 For he shall be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.

John was to bear witness of the truth of God.

*****Joh 1:7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

The Old Testament teaches that the Messiah was coming.

John the Baptist job was to tell the world that the Messiah was now here.

It is the Church’s job not only to a witness of the Gospel but to also tell the world that the Lord will return to fulfill all the Scriptures.

Rev 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
Rev 22:20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
Rev 22:21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

John the Baptist was the first ambassador for Jesus Christ!

2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2Co 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

It is sin not to look forward to the Second Coming of Christ!

It is sin, to ask Jesus into your heart and fail to repent!

It is all our job to be ambassadors for Jesus Christ and not just be pew sitters!

Our ministry is the ministry of reconciliation!

The same as John the Baptist.

John the Baptist did his job so well that many thought that he might be the Messiah.

*****Joh 1:8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
Joh 1:9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

We can say the John the Baptist was the first Christian!

John’s purpose was to lead mankind to the Light of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Say what you will but these things are to be true of every Christian. (Forgive me Lord for my failure to be more like Christ)

John could have allowed the people to make him great, but he said:

Joh 1:27 He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

A man once wrote that “at the point that we quit testifying for Jesus Christ we have chosen to betray Him”.

We are not that Light, we are sent to bear witness of the Light of the Lord!

It seems that this is the world we live in today.

All those sitting in the pews motionless and emotionless “are actually betraying the Lord”.

This is a hard saying but it is the truth!

Light reveals.

Light opens up the truth of darkness and reveals a brand-new world, a brand-new life!

Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

The truth is “Our Creator stepped out of Heaven and came down to spend some time with His creation”.

*****Joh 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
Joh 1:11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

1) Our world is so dark that when the Lord came, people closed their eyes to the truth.

2) Christ Jesus came as a Jew in the line of King David and He was rejected by His own nation.

God cares deeply for His creation especially mankind!

God is actively working to help this world throw off the burden of sin.

God made man in his own trinity, the flesh, the spirit, and the soul.

It is an unforgiving sin to those who reject the Living God.

Gal 4:3 Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
Gal 4:4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
Gal 4:5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.
Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.
Gal 4:7 Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

This world we live would rather recognize the works of Satan, so that the world does not have to change its evil ways!

*****Joh 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Joh 1:13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

What is the will of God?

2Pe_3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, “not willing that any should perish”, but that all should come to repentance.

God has done and continues to do all He can, (besides force) to persuade the world of the truth of Jesus Christ.

To reject these things is to bring damnation upon yourself!

The new birth is of God and God only!

Yes, we are washed in the blood of Jesus and are made clean, but it is not the blood that saves us in that sense!

It is only by the Mercy and the Grace of God through His Son Jesus Christ that we can be saved and be part of this New Birth!

This New Birth is not a natural birth it is a Spiritual Birth!

This New Birth is necessary to become a child of God!

This New Birth is a true experience!

This New Birth is a radical change in our lives that can only be brought about by the Love of God, and His power to save!

It is not our own flesh that brings us to salvation, it is Holy Ghost conviction.

There is no man on the face of this earth that has the power to make us a child of God!

It is only by God’s power that the new birth can take place and we are welcomed into the family of God!

We must understand it is also our Holy God who has broken the barrier of race! There are only believers and non-believers!

There is only one truth of those who reject the Lord Jesus Christ!

Joh 8:33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?
Joh 8:34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

Joh 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
Joh 8:37 I know that ye are Abraham’s seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
Joh 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.
Joh 8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham’s children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
Joh 8:40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.
Joh 8:41 Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.
Joh 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Joh 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
Joh 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Joh 8:45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not.

What is the complete truth of our Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ, God the Son?

*****Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

The incarnation of Jesus Christ is a reality!

Those that believe in God:

Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Those that believe in God must also believe that Jesus Christ (the Messiah) is God in the flesh!

1Jn 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
1Jn 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jn 2:23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
1Jn 2:24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
1Jn 2:25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.

The flesh of mankind today is not what God created it to be!

Our flesh no longer exists in the image of God because of sin. The same sin that began with Adam! Disobedience.

Jesus Christ had to come in the flesh to give us that example of what God intended for us all.

1Co 15:47 The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.

Joh_15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin.

Jesus Christ became flesh to correct and then counteract the corruption of sin, which mankind did not understand until God revealed Himself in the Scriptures!

It is by the “Grace” of God that He took the time to give us the truth of His creation when He did not have to.

We are a foolish people if we ignore what God has to say!

It is the will of God that we should believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, so God’s “Grace” can come to its fulfillment and we can be saved.

There is no other way period, for anyone to be adopted into the family of God!

We must understand what God is saying!

If Spiritual life comes by receiving the truth of Jesus the Messiah, then there must be death in rejecting Him!

Amen

Let’s Pray!
